After every game GC pulls the wings off a newborn fly while humming the Stonecutters' theme with his Stonesutters friends.

Who controls the British crown?
Who keeps the metric system down?
We do, we do
Who keeps Atlantis off the maps?
Who keeps the Martians under wraps?
We do, we do
Who holds back the electric car?
Who makes Steve Gutenberg a star?
We do, we do
Who robs cavefish of their sight?
Who rigs every Oscar night?
We do, we do

So we've moved on from photogate, to tripgate and rostergate? ...with perhaps a little dog fighting and arson mixed in? Wow!

Can we start talking about attendance numbers yet?

I do believe that is part of the five stages. It's only natural.

Sansevere had a Q&A about the trip in the Pioneer Press, and TommieMedia ran stories and a couple segments on their youtube coaches show.  Again, after re-reading the rules, I'm confident the players are allowed to go to multiple countries during their once every four years foreign tour.  They probably just wanted to control the headline so it didn't look like an extravagant worldwide tour?  The bus trip up to Winnipeg for 1 day isn't much more of a big deal then going to Grand Forks, but it can obviously rub people the wrong way if they perceive it a little differently.

Speaking of Grand Forks, I've been a season ticket holder for UND MBB for the last few years and this past summer they played games in both Italy and France, nobody on the Bisonville MBB board seemed to even notice, because they do the same thing. If you're upset at UST for living the opulent lifestyle and going to unnecessarily exotic locations for a football game, then I guess you're missing the point of the trip to Italy. If you could swing it fiancially, it was probably an awesome once-in-a-lifetime bonding experience with what will probably be some of your best lifelong friends. It seemed football was a bit of an afterthought. It also seemed from the highlights that a lot of kids on the Canada trip were probably getting the most game-action they will ever get in their collegiate careers. It seemed some were even playing both ways. I think that's pretty great.

Failing to see what the issue is other than SJU fans going scorched earth after they lose. Bordering on being about as pathetic as the St. Olaf grass-gate whining.

Johnnies win or loss, I've been pretty consistent in my views on Glenn. Call me petty, jealous or whatever you want but stop pretending the narrative drastically changes based on what happens on the field.

The same is true with the Canada and Italy trips. At no point did I say they shouldn't go or were unjustly using fat stacks of booster provided cash to take advantage of the system. Teams can legally take trips and all schools should do so for all the positives Bench mentioned. What I've questioned is what the UST narrative has been in relation to those trips. As a mostly outside observer, who works in the communications industry, I find the practice of ignoring an event that the majority of your team participated in as interesting.

If it doesn't bother you, fine. It doesn't keep me up at night. But as an observer of the MIAC I think it's worth pointing out the inconsistencies.

I think the feelings have been consistent, it's just the volume going up or down based on the result of the most recent game.

There's a good chance they both get into the playoffs...would sure make for a fun week if they played each other.  I doubt SJU would get handled as easily as they did the first time around.

I think the volume going up and down is related to the instances of what I would consider out of the norm things from a DIII football head coach, not wins and loses.  When something is noticed, it is commented on.  I think all of these observations, except one, would have been pointed out had SJU won.  In the interest of brevity I won't list them again.

I hope this is the case and not even for revenge reasons. I'd like to see this team play beyond the regular season as a reward for the seniors, especially Sura and Bungum. They came to SJU with John as the head coach and after a disappointing season were left to wonder what the next three years would hold.

After a building block (#BrickByBrick?) sophomore season they put the Johnnies back on top of the MIAC as juniors. There were plenty of people thinking that might never occur, or wouldn't for at least some time, even amongst the Johnnie faithful.

I've really enjoyed watching Sura play. I would prefer a return to the passing days of yore but the season he had last year, and the 2013 game at UST, are up there with SJU greats of the past. Sura is currently #2 on the SJU career rushing leaders list. Every member of the top 10 made the playoffs once and 6 made it at least 2 times. It would be a well deserved honor if he was able to add his name to the 2 times list and also close the gap on the #1 rusher, Tim Schmitz.

Bungum is in strange territory. I don't think he's necessarily underrated but the passing game struggles of the last few years has limited his impact. As a result I think his skills are not fully appreciated. The catch he had on the Tommie sideline this year was as good as any I've seen live - and I spent 3 years standing on the sideline watching Blake play. The passing game will need to show some life for the Johnnies to win out and Bungum will need to be a big part of it.

Representing the class of 1978 I hope Sam get's one yard less than Tim Schmitz.

Truthfully, I hope he breaks the record.  He's a great kid.

In Tim's defense, during  junior and senior years the majority of games were BIG blow outs and he was on the bench quite early.  And Jeff Norman also ran for a lot of yards.

Heard on the radio on the way home yesterday that a former MIAC, SJU golfer will be competing in the Masters next year!

Very cool moment for Sammy. The Strib story has some good anecdotes. The USGA also has a cool story detailing how his wife and friends made it down just in time for the final. http://www.usga.org/championships/2015/u-s--mid-amateur/articles/biggest-fans-arrive-just-in-time-after-all-night-drive.html

Reusse had Sammy on towards the end of his show yesterday. Small sports in MN are going to miss the hell out of that guy when he retires. I imagine it hurts his ratings when he has guests like that but I find it to be a welcomed change of pace.

Prior Lake has an inflatable helmet, smoke machine, entrance video and fireworks as the players run on the field!  All is lost I'm afraid!
