JR, rumor has it that Mr. Laker will be gone by next year.  Can anyone (Fins?) confirm?

A tradition unrivaled...

Veek you big lug good to hear.  The live teleconference was well executed.  I trust you and Frank behaved yourselves in the presence of the Pace Arrow.

Godfather,

I don't believe anyone has a "great" relationship with Dean Laker.  HOWEVA, we do have a good working arrangement with the new AD and various members of the SJU athletic depts.  This has proven fruitful in the past in regards to keeping the Rental Cops at bay.  May TDT suggest that the Stiftungsfestivities hire it's own security detail this season.  Also, what will be the starting time of the tailgate?  I was a big fan of the 8am start last season as it gets me outta bed nice and early on Saturday morning or can be quite conducive to the red-eye on Friday night...

Laker is history. SJU HR posted the Dean's job a few weeks ago and I know of 2 people who are already on the screening committee. I mentioned my interest, but all indications are it has not been taken seriously.  :o
Look for Mr. Laker to resurface close to home. Perhaps SCSU.  ???

If you find me a job in the Cities I would be glad to make an appearance. Haven't wrestled since high school gym class, though. :)
Seriously, though, I gotta get off the east coast.

fins: that is excellent news.  You are now appointed the Official SJU Insider for MIAC PP.  You will be compensated for your services with Hamm's (or the equivalent from Veek's Denali).

+K to all in my reach for feeling so good today. After a night of pounding beers, only a mild Level I hangover today. I must attribute it to the medicinal qualities of the solid base of Eelpout Ale prior to the many, many Hamm's.

Frank must be in rough shape today.  He appears to be in hibernation...

Good news for the Stiftungsfestivities for the 2006 season:

1. Even though I purchased the new used Buick Park Avenue, I am going to hold onto the `92 Buick Regal and make it into the tailgate vehicle. I know Duffman will be happy.

2. And now for the big news. I have signed up Buck `Rock n Roll Zumhofe for a novelty wrestling exhibition for the September 9 game when the Johnnies host River Falls. He will be putting on three matches. Starting time will be 11:00 a.m. and go to noon. This event will rock. Who knows, we might be able to get TDT and our esteemed webmaster to make an appearance and go at it once and for all.

As previously mentioned, I think we can also get a band that my nephew plays in to make an appearance at another home game.

This could be THE Stiftungsfestivities season of all-time and put us in the running for tailgate honors of the year in Division III.

JR, you are THE man.  That is awesome.

I'm thinking we should include the rent a cops.  Duffman against all of them.  In a steel cage.

PAT FOR DEAN!!!  (can he take away TDT's alum status??)

Also, if you want to smile:  close your eyes- then think about how wound up Laker got about the shinanigans at CSB/SJU.  Now picture Laker as the Dean at SCSU (knowing Husky students and their tendency to abstain from the firewater and the carousing) -envision Laker burning in effigy and the ensuing riots over his new proposed alcohol ban in St. Cloud ;D
My grandmother is over eighty and still doesn't need glasses. Drinks right out of the bottle.  (Yasmine Bleeth comment valid unless prohibited by your College's code of ethics for Alums)

Johnnie Red

If any of you have any suggestions on what I should get painted on the `92 Buick Regal to help promote the Stiftungsfestivities, please let me know. We should probably have a few slams against the most hated rivals of the Johnnies, i.e. Bethel, St. Thomas, etc. I do like the slogan of "Send your kid to Auggie Tech to get the equivalent of a two year degree in four years!"

TDT, I will see if I can line up the match with OAS. It would be a classic, no doubt. I suppose we would have to call it a "non-conference" bout, since MAC is not a member of the MIAC for football.

I suppose I should run the Novelty wrestling match by the "rent-a-cops" and the powers that be in Collegeville so we don't have the event shut down. TDT, KR, Duffman, et al, do any of you have a great relationship with Mr. Laker? Let me know. :P

I have dealt with Laker in the past... let's just say it wasn't the most pleasant of circumstances... kinda funny to hear him rant about "my campus" as he referred to it multiple times... then you ask him questions about SJU history or anything going on outside of Campus life's office and he's clueless.

JR,
I have a list of Tommie Jokes that is long and distinguished...insert obvious Top Gun joke here.
Let me know if you're interested.

You could also post the rules of Stiftungfest
1. Nobody talks about Stiftungfest
2. See rule 1.
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

I wasn't interested in the original, but this looks promising...

I assume this will be premiering at the Paramount.  Has the date
and time been set?  I think the last movie I saw at the Paramount
was Rocky.  I think we were drinking Hamms.  Might have been Pfeiffer.
Hamms was expensive for a college kid back then.
