'Leaf Peepers'!?!? God help us. Let those that call themselves leaf peepers stay in New England.

I'm sure there are a lot of people that would dispute Minnesota's claim to Autum supremacy. And they are all wrong.  :D

I think the Johnnies may have drank their own Kool-Aid...

Finsleft makes the best Johnnie Kool-aid.  It's been known to raise the near-dead.  :o
Thanks Duff! I have seen its magic with my own very eyes. Unfortunately, the magic jug got packed away with all of the moving this year. But, coincidentally, it was located just this week in my ongoing sorting process. Now we need the Johnnies to make the playoffs for there to be any hope of a 2015 appearance.

Laugh all you want, but it brings tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars to New England.  I've talked to B&B owners in that area who say they are usually full on summer holiday weekends, but ALWAYS full at predicted peak leaf-viewing time.

'Leaf Peeping' is big time Capitalism! :o

Match THAT, Collegeville! ;D

It rained yesterday like a typhoon at the races.  And stupidity flourished.

This is a genuine warning.  You cannot unsee this article.  A woman stripped to her undies and ran around in the rain.  Click at the risk of your own visual health.

Calm yourself Ypsi.  It's the term "peeping" that's weird. Do you have to "peep" to look at trees?

Leaf peepers sounds like a marshmallow loving, window voyeur society.

Can't say as I disagree.  I did not coin the term! ;D

Just objected to Oz claiming Minnesota was UNIQUELY glorious in the fall. ::)

One of the most spectacular I've ever seen was none of those I've so far named, but Spearfish Canyon in the northern Black Hills of South Dakota on a sunny late September day - THAT was incredible!  (Though almost all yellow/gold; I like the mix of red in there too.)

I never said it was unique.  I said it was the best.

And it is.  My grandma told me once.

Peepers who ride around in their automobiles for the sole purpose of looking at dead leaves are causing global warming...

Well, they are a miniscule fraction of the problem, but I agree.  I enjoy my autumn drives, but enjoy my autumn walks or bike rides even more.  (Autumn canoe rides are best of all, but despite several wonderful days in a row, we just never made it out - I want a beachfront cabin, dammit! ;D)

Art, if you're looking for a much better game of footy, the semi-final between Hawthorn and Freemantle was a hard fought affair from beginning to end. Not the blowout of the Grand Final.

Those are also perfect opportunities to get something on tape which future coaches have to prepare for. I know that St. John's knows how to do this -- anyone want to go back and review the game tape from the 2003 Crown game where they threw everything, including the kitchen sink (my apologies to Kitchen Sink), on tape for playoff opponents?

Guess you could say it worked.  :)
