Whale of a ballgame today, gentlemen.  We knew St. Thomas was excellent and they played with excellence today.  Too many errors, forced and unforced, by Wabash today and all the credit in the world to St. Thomas for making Wabash pay maximum penalty for all of those errors.  Best of luck in the semis!

Your video feed is off the charts bad.

Did you really want to witness that thumping?  ;)

Absolutely!  From what I could tell, had we not given up the special teams plays that we did, we could have kept this game competitive.

Congratulations, St Thomas. Count me among the Wabash fans who have to be impressed.  Too much firepower from the Tommies; too little from the Little Giants . . .on both sides of the ball.  UST kept Wabash in a long-field all afternoon, and Wabash made mistakes.    I'm not suggesting the score would have been all that different without those mistakes.  Great teams force even good  opponents into mistakes.
Expecting you now to go all the way.  Good luck.

So, is this your example of a good video feed?
Linfield - MHBU video from Stretch-clean & crisp.

UST- Wabash video Presto Sports freezes & buffers

I'd say it's the provider
Add to this UWO- UWW video crisp & clean- they are also on Stretch.....
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Well, SJU has used stretch and been even worse than UST, so there's also that.

I wonder if Stretch struggles when you've got all the D3 and D2 games (just turned of the NW Miss St game, which was stretch) during the regular season. But then it improves vastly come playoffs  ???

I know, I was just teasing. There are a lot of things that could have happened during the game. If the officials didn't miss Gililand's TD catch in the end zone they would have gone up 24-0 at the half. Instead, UST went into halftime with a 17-0 lead.

I think the game certainly could have been closer, but I just don't see your offense really moving the ball. The run game was shut down and our DBs had your WRs on lockdown. And, as I pointed out earlier during the week, Gould is a better QB than Rice.

QuoteTo expand on this who would be considered the 5 "Power Conferences" in D3?
1.WIAC
2.MIAC
3.The "New" ASC
4. NCAC
5.Ohio Athletic Conference-mainly for the Mount Union dynasty.
Just my opinion, but power conference suggests whoever wins the conference is a legitimate threat to go deep into the playoffs. Think SEC and Big 10 in football or ACC in basketball. Not every team in each of those conferences is a national title contender but the ones most likely to win it are. The NCAC doesn't fit that description. The OAC doesn't fit it either because the "whoever wins the conference" is the same team every year. Same for the ASC to a little lesser degree. UMHB didn't cruise through the ASC like Mount Union did, but the Crusaders' performance in the playoffs was good enough to convince me they haven't lost their dominant grip on their conference.

If you're asking which conferences are the best, the WIAC and MIAC are certainly in the Top 5 (and maybe top 2). Depending on how you define "best," the Empire 8 is one of the deepest. The Linfield fans said Cortland State is the best team they've seen this year and Cortland was evenly matched with a lot of their conference mates. The NJAC has gotten deeper by adding Salisbury, CNU and Wesley. The CCIW seems to have very strong programs at the top.

Not sure we can make these statements until the season has played out. Sure, right now Cortland might be the best they've seen. But will that hold true after today, or should they win, one or two weeks from now?

But I'd agree with the thought that top conferences have teams that can go deep. The best have multiple teams, in a given year and just in general, who are capable of this.

I know.  Actually, one of the few plays that we saw all the way through was the touchdown that wasn't, and a bar full of Wabash grads look at that and thanked the stars that it was called incomplete.

Special teams was certainly an issue for you guys today. Have you guys had problems all season on Special Teams? I'm wondering if Travis Walch (Special Teams coach) saw something on film.

Good on you for wailing on your draw, Thoms.

The short answer is no, Wabash has been fine on specials all year and today that phase just went nuclear meltdown.  But that's too simple and I think really doesn't give UST enough credit for using their special teams as offensively as they do.  Great job by UST.

It would appear we've got the recipe for an epic finish in McMinnville.

That Wabash running back trucked some Tommie defenders on more than one occasion today.  Those were the biggest hits of the game.

Unfortunate for the MIAC to have the rematch last week. St. John's probably could have hung with any of the teams playing today - some sloppy football in Oshkosh and Linfield.

That's how the cards were dealt.  Gotta beat the best to be the best.  Oshkosh got a tough draw as well.

Will be interested in where we land in the eyes of the voters in two weeks.
