Maybe they'll let us keep sitting at the cool kids table.'  ::)

So you're saying we're the cool kids?! ;D ;) ;)

Clearly in Linfield's mind  ;D ;)

And just for the record DC1 & DOC, I'm a Bethel alum/fan, not a UST backer. But even through my Royal tinted glasses it was obnoxious yesterday. A post or two, fine, whatever.1. But after a dozen, y'all need to get a life.2 Or at least post it on your own board or over on the OAC board (3). I've been on here for quite some time and I don't ever remember the fans of a defeated team setting up camp on another board like that, to take jabs and gloat.(4) That said, I have no delusions about anything I've said affecting your behavior. Self-awareness is a difficult lesson to learn, and if not mastered by the mid-twenties, it's usually a lost cause.

hazzben,

For the record I disagree with you again  :o

see if you  can keep up with this ? First bold, (1) I was listening to the game audio and posting as it was being played ..Hence many posts. Which i have done since the cats have entered the Ncaa back in 90's...  (2) I did not get the memo about ONLY posting on MY board .. That's not going to happen unless controlled by The Guru, (which has been done too ) :)
so if you don't like the facts i write about or commit on DON"T read it.  ;D
3. Jabs and Gloat,   I see as FACTS and Commits., that's what i do ,never have been one to color in the lines. NOT just on YOUR board but all the boards..  North, East,South and West.  (4)    Your right here bro  lost cause , :-*  Sorry Charlie... I still have a seat at the kids table.....
Better luck next year after your 4-4 MIAC... ;D :-*  Get over it ... This is just a BOARD ... C'mon man.... if it gets to hot in the kitchen get out...  ;D :P :-*

This is like a manic CT post with a less firm grasp on how ellipses and commas work. Also, it's not TOO (added a second "O" for you, troglodyte) hot, you're just petty.

Post on here all you want, I really don't care. The irony, however, is that you have no concept of "class" yet call UST "classless" ad nauseam. If perpetually taking a proverbial crap on another team, their coach, their stadium, their fans (in this case, benign, friendly, SEMINARIANS), a week after you had your ass handed to you, is "classy," then, you can go ahead and wear your definition of that word as a badge of honor, because I'd just assume not be classified as "classy" in that context.

It's about as ludicrous as the Wesley fans going on the OAC board on Friday and claiming they are the true #2 team in the country, when they were down 49 to 14 at halftime of a quarterfinal game, and haven't considered that perhaps the reason they made it look competitive was that UMU went on cruise control.

Grow up Peter Pan.

I don't think it's wise to spend an excessive amount of time recruiting juco players, but you can find some gems if you know where to look. I know this isn't a perfect example, but UST's baseball team recently had two juco transfers, Dylan Thomas and Steve Maher, who both ended up being All American ball players.

Dang. You fixed your where/wear. I was about to take a jab at that
>:( ;D :P

Anyone going to attend the Coaches Corner at Plum's tonight? I'd like to go and I think I got the pass from the wife to attend, but my friend who would have gone with me is out of town.

Yeah. Can't call out someone's grammar and make an amateur mistake like that. I should just go CT on the bit and be about telling, not spelling.

Re: JUCOs

I saw Rochester CC scrimmage UST a couple of years back. If I have my years right it was 2013 and UST did not make the playoffs that year. However, RCC was totally overmatched and they've typically had a good JC program. It's possible they had a player or two on that team that could contribute to an MIAC team but I didn't see any that day - though I wasn't neccesarly in a scouting mode.

Again, not saying it's a big deal to recruit, just an option (agree with Faunch on getting transfers from higher divisions; where have you gone, Kyle Gearman?).

Now, 2013 isn't listed here, but I have a feeling some of these guys (some did go MIAC) who went D1 and D2 might have had a chance at helping an MIAC school from a physical standpoint (we are still talking MIAC here, not SEC)...(taking into account other factors like grades, etc., would have to be there)

http://www.rctcyellowjackets.com/fan_zone/football-where-are-they-now

And again, the JUCO hoops conference in MN has many, many players who would do fantastic at MIAC schools, so to think there are none from the top football school in the state at that level (or other teams) who could play D3 is a stretch.

I think Olean has taken a bit of flack from some within the school, some hs coaches, and maybe some in the conference about that approach too. So while it has worked ok, it has come with some challenges.

The HS coach angle is another thing to think about. If you go to deep into the well of pursuing transfers, whether they be JUCO or moving down divisions, some HS coaches will take it as a shot against the kids you were in recruiting at their school and brought into your program. That does not mean a couple here and there aren't going to work, but we probably arent going to see the Bill Snyder approach anytime soon.

I did wonder if the Rochester CC preseason scrimmages with UST would amount to any pipeline, and it has not in any way. Makes me wonder then if it could ever work since the coaches have a good relationship and the kids are seeing the campus. Could be a number of reasons why, but Rube probably noted the most likely, that many aren't at the skill level required. I think Basketball and Baseball are a bit more nuanced in the individuality in the sport.

Its interesting to see the turn hockey has taken in the MIAC. The majority of all MIAC hockey rosters are jr hockey guys that thought that going that route might amount to a D1 scholarship. When it doesnt the next best option is D3. Not crazy to see a 25 year old or two on the rosters.

Usually only see that from the guys taking snaps behind center for St. John's.

I've never heard the term 'commit' used in the way you have been using it - commit on/facts and commits?  Do you mean 'comment'?

Question - if Sam Sura finished 2nd for the Gagliardi Trophy (meaning he was regarded as the 2nd most outstanding DIII player), how come he only made D3football.com's All America third team?   ???

"The Gagliardi Trophy is a football award but incorporates the philosophy of the well-rounded student-athlete."

The All-American team takes into account what they do strictly on the field. The Gagliardi Trophy takes into account all things on and off of the field. So while he may have been 2nd in the voting of a "well-round student-athlete", he was not rated that highly for his on the field accomplishments.

That's my understanding at least.
