I'm not tired of reports here, Ypsi.  I'm tired of kids announcing their D3 "commitments."

A tradition unrivaled...

OK, gotcha.  Though it may be comforting to know that they are 'committed', even if there is no binding agreement between the school and them.

Boy, I am just lost with today's conversation.  I feel like I may be the only one that hasn't watched "Making a Murderer."

Whether you agree or disagree with how the series was constructed, the filmmakers and Netflix have to consider this a massive success. You are not paying high price actors like Kevin Spacey in House of Cards and you have created a debate across the country that many people don't want to feel left out of. I havent looked to see if it has boosted Netflix membership or if their has been a stock bump, but it sure feels like you said, that you are an outsider if you have not seen it.

I'm not saying it's the same thing but you can get rich selling meth.

Trust a Tommie to argue that stacking money in great big piles is, ipso facto, a good thing. :)

Anyone else sick of the "committing" garbage?  This is D3.  The only commitment is you telling the coach that you're going to show up on the first day of practice and then your parents sending in your tuition check. ::)
Yes.

But so is any other college commitment. Until signing day, even in D1, the word "commitment" means nothing other than where the player is leaning. The only true commitment in D1 is the National Letter of Intent, and while that does come a few months before the first check is due in DIII, the term commitment that is bounced around at any level really doesn't mean what fans think it means.

Down here in the state of AL there are plenty of "commitments" that all of a sudden switch at the last minute, even those who have gotten tattoos of their "commitment" are prone to end up at a rival school, see Ruben Foster who had an Auburn tattoo in h.s., committed to them right up until a week or so before signing day, and has now had a more than decent career at Alabama... Don't know if the tattoo was removed, changed, blacked out, or simply still there mocking War Eagle fans with every Iron Bowl tackle...

Ha!  When I played, we had a guy that had a large, red N on his upper arm.  I recall him "committing" to Nebraska in high school.  He maintained that the N was for Nick (his name, obviously).

Seems plausible to me. N for Nick.  In case he forgot sometime.  Linemen can often use the extra help.

I remember there being a couple of SJU basketball players, twins maybe? (can't quite remember..do remember that they were post players) that had the Nebraska N on their arms...or maybe it was just one of them.  Anyone else remember that?  Always thought it was funny to see that tattoo on a kid playing D3 hoops.

Edit:  Make the picture full size and you can see it on 55's arm.  https://bethelathletics.smugmug.com/Bethel-Mens-Basketball/2006-07/Bethel-vs-St-Johns/i-599qnFd/A

He didn't strike me as the brightest bulb on the tree, and I think he left SJU after a semester or two.

Kind of reminds me of the joke:  What does the N on the Nebraska helmets stand for?  Knowledge.

Have there been any Hoag underwear model sightings in local malls lately?

And in Wiscy the authorities are worried about the students yelling "Air Ball!"

http://www.kfan.com/onair/the-power-trip-12367/hs-girls-basketball-benches-clearing-brawl-14291794/

Ah, but it's easy to see what happened when you listen to the news brief. It was all an unfortunate misunderstanding. A girl from one team mocked a shot with an "Air ball!"  But a girl from the other team misunderstood that to be "Hair ball!"  Whic, of course, led to the, uh, cat fight.

Getting back to our main topic:
Was in a liquor store this afternoon and noticed the one of the most expensive beers was called 10 barrel Swill. I'm sure one of our posters can review said brew. The only Leinies they had was Snowdrift Vanilla Porter. I know Duffman can review that one  :)
