Johnnie Red

tmerton, congrats to your son for officially becoming a Johnnie! As everyone on this board will acknowledge, if they are being truthful, he has picked the best school in the MIAC, the West Region and Division III for academics and football. ;D I trust we will be seeing you at a few of the Stiftungsfestivities this fall.

Mongolian Warrior, in terms of a position in sports management, I could hook you up with the Chaska Cubs, one of the premier town team baseball programs in Minnesota. While we could not pay you anything for your time, the experience would be worth it and would look good on your resume. We host the state high school class 1A tourney and the Lion's All-Star state tourney in June. The Cubs host nineteen regular season games, including the MIAC night on Friday, July 21 when Rochester comes to Chaska. The Cubs are also co-hosting the state town team tournament with Shakopee in 2008. Let me know if you are interested.

Congrats to #2 Son!    He made the right choice!  ;D
My grandmother is over eighty and still doesn't need glasses. Drinks right out of the bottle.  (Yasmine Bleeth comment valid unless prohibited by your College's code of ethics for Alums)

I fear that I'm going to get familiar with NWA (I remember when it was Northwest Orient) and the redeye flight into MSP.   When are the next Stiftungsfestivities?  Labor Day and the first game?

ritz72, you have a very good memory!

This is encouraging news. Cut back to 1 beer per day and your memory returns.  :D

Plus with this endless supply of Lovanox and Cumadin, my blood is thinner than an anorexic at Famine Relief Rally!    ::)

SHOULD HAVE BEEN A ROYAL!

While he does have blue and gold in his genes (albeit from a different source), he also likes to dance!

Up there by Grand Forks it was snowing heavily and blowing to the point that  visibility was almost zero when Lena got off work at Wal-Mart.

She made her way to her car and wondered how she was going to make it home. She sat in her car while it  warmed up and thought about her situation.

She remembered Ole's advice that if  she got caught in a blizzard, she should wait for a snow plow to come by and  follow it.  That way she would not get stuck in a snow  drift.

This made Lena feel much better and sure enough in a little while, a snow plow went by, and she started to follow it.  As she followed the snow plow, she was feeling very smug as they continued, and she was not having any problem with the blizzard conditions.

After quite sometime had passed, she was somewhat surprised when the snow plow stopped and the driver got out and came back to her car and signaled her to roll down her window.

The snow plow driver wanted to know  if she was all right, as she had been following him for a long time.  She said that she was fine and told him of Ole's advice to follow a snow plow when caught in a blizzard.

The driver replied that it was OK with him, and she could continue if she wanted...but he was done with the Wal-Mart parking lot and was going over to Kmart next.

Agh - if only we'd known.  What's next?  Catholics?

(Footloose is running through my head, too.)

Whoa Nelly

Hello MIAC

Closed Circuit to all Cobber Faithful:

Hated rivals, MSUM Dragons, are once again without a Head Coach. After only 1 year, a 1-9 season and a suprising loss by the varsity in the annual varsity vs alumni game, Chad Eisele has moved on to take the AD job at his alma mater Knox College in Illinois (same conference as Lake Forest and Monmouth)

MSUM AD claims that he will name an interim coach for the upcoming year and that his first choice is JOHN MACKOVIC, former Texas, Arizona, and the Kansas City Chiefs head coach.... sounds like a mess

WW--my favorite part of that video is that woman who guesses the leprechaun in actually a crackhead.  As for the stadium, it should probably be called "Wonka and Mongo's Big Ballz Stadium".  The name alone will get us some sweet chicks.

The crackhead and the backhoe were my favorite parts.

If we somehow manage to score naming rights to the stadium and happen to slip that name past the powers that be, I assume future Gusties would also warm up to AC/DC's "Big Balls" on a constant loop for 60 minutes, right? I like it.

G is for Gentleman.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

SUMMIT!!!!!

This should put a proud smile on the faces of all SJU posters:

On the male side, I don't think the Selection Committee could have gone wrong with any of the three finalists, but Matt was clearly the best candidate. Ditto for Vig on the Female side.

JRed--if 'Chaska Cubs' under the experience part of my resume doesn't get me a job, I dont know what will.  Carver county is quickly becoming a top runner in where to live in MN.

WW--That song would be better than anything that they're playing now before the games.  You'd think that our man Schoenebeck would be cranking out the Van Halen, but I don't think its happend yet.
I'd post a lot more if I had a real job
