I was just now browsing some vids on an Australian sporting website and found this highlighted...

http://www.theroar.com.au/tv/battler-college-team-pulls-off-incredible-trick-play/

By the way, a "battler" in Australian slang means:

An Australian that is always trying to do things right. Unfortunately he always stuffs up and makes a fool of himself. Friends, workmates, family etc. ridicule him because of his misfortune.

I laughed twice over when I saw this.  Ha!  Double Ha!
Video link for Oz only, us blokes in the states don't have access...... :'(

Bummer. As you probably guessed it's the battlers at UST doing the behind the back flick for the extra points against Carlton.

Flogs. Another apt Aussie slang.

Viking Xanadu???  Only 2 weeks left in the auction.

It was hard for me to envision how a Viqueens game could be more nightmarish than the show they normally deliver.  And then I clinked that link.

Incoming UST QB Liam Bell will compete in the All-Star game in Washington this Friday. Between Jacques Perra, Gabe Green, Alex Fenske, and others the QB battle should be fun to watch this year.

Should be good competition at the QB position.  Gotta believe some of these guys have higher aspirations than to sit the bench for a D3 team, I wonder how many of these non-starters will be looking for a new school next year.

Well, they can't talk to anyone else unless they get a release and if they go anywhere else they'll have to sit a year.

Not if they stick within D3.

This is how you spot a true rodeo junkie.  It's one thing to recognise the riders. It's a whole 'nother thing to recognize the bulls.

Decades and decades ago, I briefly was a rodeo photographer, taking the shots from inside the arena. Not only did you get to know the "rough stock" but if you got to know the stock contractors they would signal which direction the bull/bronco would usually go out of the gate. I scrambled up more than a few fences.

Usually some pretty nice folks on that scene.

Did anyone see this story about David Forster?  He was an accomplished cross country and track runner at SJU even though he played football at Hopkins High School.  He, his brother Max and father were all Johnnies.  Max played football and baseball a couple years ago.

Is anyone keeping score 'cause this has to go in the "things I never thought I would read here" file.
