Here's a valuable tidbit for those who like to hurl snarky insults at UST. Unfortunately, I checked the alumni registery and it looks like this guy is a Tommie. I'm bracing myself for a wave of negative comments about the F.A.M.I.L.Y. You're welcome.

What an insanely good game!  Grand Final quality (particularly since the Hawks pulled out another thrilling victory).  I'll definitely post the link to this game and anyone even mildly curious should check this one out.

Well, it must be getting close to fall camp.  A couple boxes of GAC swag for my son (some for mom and dad too) arrived at the house today.  Mom says it looks like the house is being invaded by bumble bees.

That's what $40K+ per annum gets you nowadays: learning, living, and lots of swag...

$40K?  Who pays that?  And the swag isn't paid by the school (this isn't D1-FBS).

I'm seeing people walking around town doing this all the time now.

Last year the average tuition + fees at Gustavus rose to just over $42K. As for swag, when my siblings went to Gustavus they were handed free Gustie t-shirts, banners, key chains, school supplies, etc. at college events all of the time. I had a similar experience at UST, but we were also given a bottle of port from the university cellars upon arrival. ;) Maybe things have changed...

Actually, cost of attendance is over $50K ($53K at UST, $54K at Gustavus) at the MIAC schools.  Most family's don't pay anywhere near that though.  After grants and scholarships my son's GAC bill is less than the U of M would be.  As for swag, I was talking about football team swag (practice shorts, practice shirts, cleats, traveling fleece pants and jackets, etc), not the junkets you normally receive - we have lots and lots of that stuff from a bunch of D1, D2, and D3 schools (Sewanee football T-shirt anyone).  The MIAC shirts will be great to drape over a tire for doing Macebell drills.

+K. The tuition data I pulled must be off. You all have fun with your MIAC shirts during drills. In the meantime, we'll be off attending to that port. :)
