What's going on with the Gopher Football program? I have yet to hear what was the activity that started the whole ball rolling. Why were the 10 players suspended? Anybody got the skinny?

It's all stemming from an alleged sexual assault that occurred off-campus in September. There were charges brought against 5 of the 10, but they were eventually dropped. Later, those same men had a restraining order placed against them by the accuser/victim, and because she was a member of the gameday crew at TCF Bank Stadium, the players were unable to participate in a few games. The restraining order was later reversed in civil court. The school's own internal investigation based on the student conduct code/Title IX (different burden of proof from criminal courts), has resulted in the expulsion/suspension of 10 students. The same five who were directly involved in the incident, plus four who were present at the time, and another who wasn't present.

Reddit r/CFB is actually a pretty good source. There's a lot of users who share what they find, and moderators who do a good job of sorting out speculation, hate speech, and irrelevant posts.

The Stagg is being broadcast on ESPN2 down here.  I plan on being in Virginia the next time the Johnnies make it (saving those frequent flyer miles) but I'm am a little jealous that I can't show all my friends down here good old St Johns on the TV. Soon. Maybe next year. Or the year after.
