It's official...the MIACs have their first child on the way. In other words, future Tommie in the pipeline...

Congratulations!  Babies are a lot more expensive when you have to pay for a Lambo too  ;)

Mrs Oz and I had dinner last night with stanbob and his wife. It was a great evening (I hope they agree ;)) and we had a beautiful view of the city with perfect weather.  Most importantly, Bob drank a James Squire Nine Tales which I think he liked.

They left this morning to see Ayer's Rock in the Red Centre and then they are up to Port Douglas in the tropics.  They finish up in beautiful Sydney. It's a whirlwind trip and they are visiting some top spots. I hope it's a great trip.

Thanks Oz for such tremendous hospitality when Cindy and I were in Melbourne, again you went above and beyond the call of a host. I thoroughly enjoyed the Nine Tails but did not see it again on my journeys, however I did have several of the James Squire 150 Lashes and the Jack of Spades Porter, which by the way became my favorite beer there.  Any of you here that can make it to Australia should and look up Oz, probably the best host I have come across in my almost 60 years, he is justifiably proud of his new home and will show you a great time.  Heck, he may even give a tommy a two minute tour  ;).  Thanks again Oz and remember anything that I can do for you I will.

stanbob emailed me about the most amazing photo of Uluru (Ayer's Rock) that I've ever seen.

+K to stanbob, (I went back to your last post in November) Impressive photo
+K to Oz for sharing.

A phone shot no less...

Mrs Oz tells me that the same engine shop which filmed that spider/snake video two days ago found another dead brown snake under a pallet yesterday.  Get some damn barrier spray and keep the killer creepy crawlies out of the workplace, for God's sake.

Thanks for keeping this to yourself while we were there...

Thanks, stanbob. It was my pleasure. I'm glad you had a great trip.

Oz, I can't get the picture on my machine, could you email it to me?  Thanks,  Stanbob

I see that the de facto SJU beat writer, Frank Rajkowski, is departing the SC Times for KSTP.

Good luck to him, lost asset to SJU, and to the MIAC in general.  I'm guessing that he was probably one of the most, if not the most knowledgeable MIAC folks when it came to knowing a fair amount about each team.  I certainly especially enjoyed checking in on his MIAC previews before the season when I was excited for the MIAC season start.

That's a shame for us but good for Frank. He's a Johnnie institution and will be missed.

I hope we can still keep him around doing those for Kickoff as well! Might be tougher now that he no longer has a newspaper outlet for the rest of the content. :-\

The newspaper business has been shrinking for the past 15 years. Coincidentally that is when the inter webs began to find it's swagger. Frank will be o.k. in his new position,we on the other hand will truly realize what we had when it's (he's) gone.

Good luck Frank! 8-)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Frank's move to KSTP will bring him to St. Paul. Maybe he'll become the KSTP guy covering UST football...
