I laughed when I looked at the 8 qualifiers. I swear that you could have picked that exact same bracket from when I was in high school. It's funny how only 15 years later .... it's the same teams in the big show.

EDIT: And I just noticed that Wayzata is 10-17-1.  30% of their wins came in the section playoffs.  Talk about getting hot at the right moment.

Wayzata lost a lot to graduation from their State title team a year ago. THey are clicking at the right time again, and sent the cake eaters packing in the section final. Some of the photos and videos from the section finals were making their way around the interwebz this week, and show what a spectacle this all is. The Stillwater - Hill Murray crowd at Aldrich was spectacular, as was the Duluth East - Grand Rapids game.

Wouldn't Wayzata themselves also be cake eaters?

Growing up in Duluth, East were the cake eaters, being on the wealthy end of town...never sad to see them lose!

Nah, Plymouth/Wayzata is a tough guy town.  I'm surprised they can get enough guys to play considering the cost of hockey equipment and ice time.  Go Trojans

Wayzata has cake eaters yes but Edina is The Cake EatersTM As a Lake Conference grad I can tell you we all had that name for Edina. These days I respect their hockey program. I actually wanted them in over Wayzata.
