They are just catching you boys while you have that tax refund money in your pocket.

At least they don't charge us for parking + a spot for tailgating supplies.

True. UWRF has a corner on that market. We almost had to pay a license fee to use that picnic table to boot.  ::)

That money is already spoken for (by my wife) before it ever reaches my pocket.  So, I really don't get any money back--my wife and daughter's wardrobe fund get some money.
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

The United States is literally one of two countries that taxes its citizens' overseas income.  The other is a small African tyranny.

As to income tax for labor I don't pay anything to the USA as Australia has quite high income taxes and the IRS has some highly complex rules that give credit for that.  But there is no such credit on other income, like dividends or rental, so I'm taxed twice.  Sometimes as much as 70%.  No sh*t.  Also, no capital gains relief so again taxed twice.  As much as 50%.  No sh*t.  So basically, that means I never sell anything and just pray for a change in tax law to a fair system.

This isn't a statement on politics, but I never realized that Trump said he would do away with that bullsh*t system while on the campaign trail.  If had I would most definitely have been a supporter.  But as for now, I just would like everyone to STFU and let him get on with his tax proposals so that my daughters can keep some of the money that I'm working so hard to collect.  And if congress could do that better than they did their ObamaCare bs, I would be very appreciative.

End of tax rant.  I f***ing hate taxes.  I'm particularly unfairly exploited.

EDIT:  By the way I noticed some articles in the news that the number of Americans giving up citizenship for tax reasons is an all time high.  I doubt that it is for taxes.  Anyone that would want to give up citizenship for tax reasons can't afford to.  There is a departure penalty that is approximately 40% of all assets.  Not income, frickin' assets.  Your house.  Your car.  Shares.  Savings.  40%.  It's almost like those criminals in Washington act like mobsters and since you have citizenship then they own a piece of you.

Ok.  I apoligize, everyone.  I'll put myself in the penalty corner for a little while.

You know, I have been trying to come up with a witty comeback, and I realized that I just turned 36.  I'm not a young guy anymore.  :-\

I would give most anything to be 36 again, but that is 32 years in the rear-view mirror.  (Of course, I would also want to know what I now know and have the money I now have - age DOES have its benefits! ;D)

Hate to tell you this, Oz, because it might not have made it through the interwebs to down under, but the guy says a lot of things about everything and has no clue about anything. But, hey, he was fun on TV.

And now let me join you:

You've GOT to get creative, Oz.  There are others in your shoes who have found loopholes.  The departure penalty is really a big middle finger to the payee.  Might as well be a thumb.

Thanks, BDB, but it's all relative.  I'm young to you  :o, but I'm old to those fresh college grads!
