Off season bored stiff post: favourite Monty Python movies?

For me, in order:

1) The Life of Brian
2) The Holy Grail
3) The Meaning of Life

(I don't reckon the Flying Circus type clip movies count)

Jeez, this off season is slow.  Worse than normal.

What has surprised me is that there is so little talk of beer.  ;D

Monty Python:  The Holy Grail....hands down
God: Every time I try to talk to someone it's "sorry this" and "forgive me that" and "I'm not worthy"...

I'm excited to try Insight Brewing's Crazy Aunt.

I have a love affair with gin and tonic.  If Crazy Aunt is good, it'll be a great boat beer.

A tradition unrivaled...

A G&T, delicious.  What a thirst quencher, eh?

I'm not sure how I'd go with G&T flavored beer.  I like my tastes crisp and distinct.  Beer tasks like beer.  Crocodile tastes like chicken.

For many, many years The Holy Grail was my favorite as well, particularly the burning of the witch.  I think it always has been and still is my dad's favorite.  The Meaning of Life tickled my funny bone with the Every Sperm is Sacred bit but then as I aged the raw cynicism of The Life of Brian has settled in first position.

My most guilty pleasure of LoB is when they are at the very back of the crowd listening to Christ and the Sermon on the Mount.  There's talking and shushing so no one can quite hear what Christ is saying.

GREGORY: Could you be quiet, please?

JESUS: They shall have the earth...

GREGORY: What was that?

JESUS: ...for their possession. How blest are those...

MR. CHEEKY: I don't know. I was too busy talking to Big Nose.

JESUS: ...who hunger and thirst to see...

MAN #1: I think it was 'Blessed are the cheesemakers.'

JESUS: ...right prevail.

MRS. GREGORY: Ahh, what's so special about the cheesemakers?

GREGORY: Well, obviously, this is not meant to be taken literally. It refers to any manufacturers of dairy products.

MR. CHEEKY: See? If you hadn't been going on, we'd have heard that, Big Nose.

I'll let you know, Oz.  It'll never be a replacement for a G&T, but a change of pace can be nice.

My guilty citified confession: I've tried and enjoyed a coffee martini.  I don't enjoy regular martinis (too dry) but it turns out that coffee in a martini is quite tasty.  So, who knows?  It could happen that mixing G&T into a beer will be a winner.

Speaking of citified drinks, another one that I came across was a Japanese Slipper.  Had never heard of it before, but who can resist Midori and Contreau?  Needless to say, I drank far too many, embarrassed myself at my friend's party and had a level 6 the next day.  It was a disaster, but they sure were tasty.

The east coast has had an explosion of great micro brews lately.  Up for a late summer exchange?

Anyone go to the QB club last night at Plum's?  Caruso showed the incoming recruiting class.  Just wondering if there were a few transfers coming in this year. I noticed Brooks Carroll from Bemidji and Tait Kelly from Gustavus, but just wondering if there were a few others.

In other news, Charlie Dowdle got an invite to the Jaguars camp. Wish him luck! https://twitter.com/UST_Football/status/859056022673129472
