My understanding is that Erdmann is the guy, although I do see that Alvord was in a bit in the 2Q before Erdmann came back in? Did he get roughed up by the cheatin' Oles (can we just call them the Classless Tommies, south edition?)

Barwick was 2/2 on FG and 4/4 on EP, so he's fine. Your backup kicker got one blocked at the end of the game.

I don't think Erdmann got roughed up, but the Johnnies like to mix things up by putting Alvord in the game.  He's a very different QB than Erdmann.

The kicking on PATs/FG was fine.  I think they blocked one, but SJU got a 2nd chance because of an offsides call (which is likely why they blocked it).  Barwick looks good.

Forgot about the offsides call on the 3rd or 4th TD XP l - ultimately leading to a two-point conversion. I also see there were at least two-point attempts on the other side of Northfield as well.

I think Erdmann is special so I'm hoping they roll with him. Duff is right, Alvord is a different QB and also very good. I'm hoping they switching that was happening the first few weeks was more about building depth, and rewarding Alvord for his play last season, vs something they plan to use throughout the season.

I see that the forecast currently calls for rain on Saturday, starting in the evening...obviously way too far out to know for sure, but if that moved ahead a few hours, would either team be favored by a wet day?  I haven't watched a minute of either.

Would sure make the dirt end of the field dicey.

It would really piss off the Twins, too. The last thing they want is for a football game to be played in the wet on their field.

Wasn't this their idea? Needed to generate revenue because the 9 they were putting out on the field couldn't draw?

It's about showcasing the venue for future similar games, probably with our regional FCS power(s). That doesn't mean they wanted a football game played in wet conditions, though.

Next one is scheduled for 2019? NDSU vs Butler. I thought that game was going to be in 2018.

Can I ask a question? Is there a reason the Tommie-Johnny game is played this early in the season? I get that the last decade or so of relevance isn't always in place, but does the MIAC ever adjust the schedule so that the expected most meaningful games are pushed later in the season? Or is there a specific reason this rivalry game is played early instead of late? Like maybe a hope for better weather to keep attendance up?

Put me in the category of being intrigued by it as a 1 time thing, but I'll take the college campus atmosphere any day. The same goes for neutral site D1 games too.

A show like this every year would probably have difficulty sustaining the hype. But every 6-8 years would be interesting. I would definitely time a trip home for the next one.  But I hope the Johnnies never host a game outside of Clemens

A man was sitting at a park bench when another man sat next to him and they engaged in conversation. Shortly after, the second man, a Johnnie, said, "So, I bet you're a Tommie."

The first man said enthusiastically, "Why yes I am. How did you know? My intelligence? My wit? My good looks?"

"No," the Johnnie said, "I saw your class ring when you were picking your nose."

I had something like this happen with my wife at the bar one time. Bartender asked me about St Thomas and I was trying to figure out how he knew or if it had come up in prior conversation. He pointed out my purple UST sweatshirt.

Mr.MIAC

Anyone here going to the pre-game event at Fulton? Any other places doing something similar?

Ha!  I swear to God I thought you were going to confess to being caught picking your nose in Tommie gear.
