Pat, do you send any of these open dates to the ADs of the schools with  dates to fill? Playing "match maker" may hopefully get more competitive non-conference games for everyone.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Not at this time of year but as we get into the offseason, sometimes I do, yes. We also recently moved this board off of an old server, so all the coaches got an email from me a few weeks ago with the new details.

There you go SJU, MHB has an open week. Heck, you can play them twice!

I would welcome that, but nobody asked me.

That's how UWW got on their run, MU & SJU back to back weekends in 2002. You have to know what it takes, talent & scheme wise, to be a Stagg Bowl winner. Tough non-conference games gives you a guage of where you are at and what you need to do to get to the next level.

UWW played St. Cloud St. too if I remember correctly.

NDSU is close. I don't imagine SJU would give them any worse of a game than Incarnate Ward or Mississippi Valley State.

Speaking of NDSU, have they prioritized raising their profile in the Twin Cities? I saw quite a few NDSU billboards in the Twin Cities during the Tommie-Johnnie game weekend. That's new since I moved away.

Augsburg will catch UST at the perfect time on Saturday, preparing for and thinking about the big game with Concordia.

UND has had a Twin Cities footprint for years. NDSU trying to show they're more than just a land grant/agricultural school I suspect.

I don't think UST is looking past Augsburg. The last two years aside, the Auggies have played UST about as tough as anyone in the conference, save for the Cobbers and Johnnies.

Same. I guarantee UST isn't preparing for Concorida this week, not with one in the loss column already. That doesn't mean it still isn't a good time to catch the Tommies, on the road & coming off of a hard-fought emotional win over the Johns. The Auggies are always scary, and UST frequently has a hard time getting off to a fast start against them.

Should be interesting to see how long we can slow down the UST offense. If Olinger #90, is able to play then I have faith in our defensive line depth with 6 quality d linemen to rotate and we have a chance no matter how small. The linebackers are solid and the D backs are veterans with two corners that like to go for the ball. We shall see how long they hold up.  Frisell is a veteran QB and he gets rid of the ball quickly but I am sure UST will put pressure on him. He can run so I see him escaping a few times and picking up some yards on the ground.  Running backs and WR's are very solid. O line is good enough to keep up with UST but they will be tested. I am expecting that Corner BlitzTM from UST, the play that takes out quarterbacks. Maybe someone will pick that guy up this year.

Especially if the Tommies' offense continues to assist in the effort. UST's Caruso-era record at Augsburg, for what it's worth:

2015 W, 55-6
2013 W, 17-14
2011 W, 17-0
2008 L, 22-20
