So I was thinking about ordering one of these from the UST bookstore. However, shipping on the $199 item costs $108. SJU's store is charging $20 for shipping. What's with the disparity? I assume SJU is only selling the ones with red borders.

... those stunning, buxom blonde coeds that are apparently the norm at U$T.

Hey, gotta pay for all that body glitter somehow.
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

Put me in the group rooting for the Tommies. No matter what SJU has to win out to make the playoffs and at 9-1 will they will. So as long as I'm playing out the future I have no problem saying I'd like Concordia to be in the playoffs with us... but it's not going to happen. UST, at home, with their raucous capacity crowd, won't lose against the Cobbers backup QB.

Homecoming. This may not be facetious.
Last year Augsburg was the UST Homecoming opponent and we drew a crowd of 5,300+  :D
This year the Auggies are the SJU Homecoming opponent and I bet we draw more than that at Collegeville, probably 10-11K+ eh guys!  :D

Such a dubious honor we have but we do draw well........

Trying to think of what B1G coach said, but he said something along the lines of "I know we will have made it when we aren't everyone's homecoming games in the conference." Might have been Fitzgerald.

I went and checked back to 1999 (as far as d3football.com had stats) and this is what I found:

* A 2 loss MIAC team getting in over a 1 loss MIAC team: Never
* A 1 loss MIAC team not getting in: Never
* A 2 loss MIAC team getting in: Twice (UST 2014, SJU 2001)

To be fair, we (SJU) won the MIAC in 2001, so we were a pool A selection.  Not sure about UST in 2014.

As I recall, Bethel was in line for the 2nd MIAC bid that year, but lost its final game to Augsburg in a snowstorm, 62-61.  Their previous 2 losses were to Wartburg and St Johns.  The third loss knocked them out of the playoffs and the last spot came down to UST and North Central.

I have it set to download on the Fire TV Stick once I get my DSL modem replaced tonight. The other night's storm included a lightning strike which took out our power and zapped my DSL modem and power adapter, so that was fun.

Do you like the fire tv stick? Thinking some of these devices will be discounted the closer we get to the holidays. I have a roku 3 and an older Apple TV. Really don't want to spend the $$$ on the Apple TV as long as roku and others perform well.

Overall, I like it. I (and the kids) appreciate having a separate remote. I'm not sure if there is a newer version of it. I got it right when it first came out and it can be a bit laggy. Also sometimes loses the network connection, but a quick restart takes care of that.

Also have a Chromecast which is great for some things but not so great for others.

Glen Mason once joked that he wasn't sure if the team should take a bus or a plane to away games "or ride on a homecoming float."

There are strikes across New Zealand today as the citizenry protests the rising cost of lamb.  Apparently, it's up to $90 an hour.

(I heard that one last night.  It made be chuckle so I thought I would pass it on.)

As North Dakotan I shall steal this joke and switch New Zealand with Montana and lamb with sheep. Thanks! +K

Yes, that was a pretty tough loss. If Bethel had won that game they would have been MIAC co-champs with St. John's as they also would only have had 1 conference loss. I don't think it was so much the snow that caused problems, but it was the frozen field. The defenders couldn't get any traction and wide receivers were getting wide open all day long on both sides. Unfortunately it came down to the final play of the game, a 2 point conversion attempt to win the game and Augsburg stuffed the run attempt. Bethel would have definitively gotten the 2nd MIAC bid as they had beaten both St. Thomas and Concordia.

Don McLean might categorize that as "the day Bethel's defense died."

It hasn't felt quite the same since then. They really used to dominate that side of the ball.
