I played with Husby at UST. He spent the majority career as a backup until he willed himself into the starting roll his senior year and became the MIAC specialist of the week twice. He held down a day job for a steady paycheck while he built his academy from scratch. He's got guys everywhere from the Big Sky to the SEC. Pretty good story.

Did some social media creeping on Jordan Roberts and found this statement on his public Instagram he posted last week:

"Tomorrow for our senior day will be the last day I ever put on a football uniform. Earlier in the year I experienced my fourth diagnosed concussion with symptoms that forced me to have to consider my long term health and ability to move forward playing the game I love. My family and doctors all helped me decide it was the best thing for me and my health to be done playing. Secondly, the most important thing in my life is and always will be my faith in Christ, and his will for me right now is to move on to the next stage in life and discern my vocation as a man, and I am at peace with that. It took me 24 years, but I have found things that matter to me more than the game of football and coming here has given me that blessing. I gave this game everything I had, from day one to the last. I became the best version of myself I could be, and I'm walking away in peace knowing there's much more to life and love that I will experience. I gave it my all, had a blast creating memories with family, and I'm forever indebted to the game and all my teammates and coaches that have given me so much along the way. It was quite a ride, but all things must come to an end. Via tua semper sit digna."

Ive heard his name quite a bit. Filling quite a niche with at UST and with his academy. College coaches in D1 & D2 are going the scholarship route with specialists now, including long snappers. That has opened the door to special training with guys like Husby. I think there is a UST alumni kicker out there doing a similar gig.
Chris is a UST alumni punter ;D Almost all long snappers are PWO and if they start they'll get a scholarship their junior year.  Chris (until recent NCAA rule changes) also ran or was involved with many D1  specialist camps in the area (UM, UW).  He also partners with a number of other specialist coaches for camps all over the country (Team Jackson Kicking, Husted Kicking).  They place a lot of local kids with D1, D2, and D3 programs around the country (and some with NFL, CFL, AFL tryouts).  If you know of a young man or woman who's interested in kicking, punting, or long snapping he's a great guy to get in touch with.

Brady Beeson is the other UST guy out there doing this. He was a UST kicker, that I think, transferred from SJU. He's cut his teeth in the Arena leagues and done a bunch of coaching, camps and consulting as well.

This was the local Edina kid (Colin Carroll) I was thinking of that got a full ride to Va Tech out of high school as a long snapper: https://www.pressreader.com/usa/star-tribune/20070208/283197258864476

Thanks for sharing. What a fantastic kid. Best to him in whatever the future holds in priesthood or his theology vocation. The Vianney has been a strong supporter of UST football in the Caruso years, but I think the connectivity between the team and the Vianney became so much richer with one of their own starting at Tailback and garnering D3 Offensive Player of the Year honors.

The depth of stories about athletes around D3 never get old. Oz's nugget on the SJU bball kid today is a perfect example too.

Anyone score/outcome predictions on the Johnnie's/Cobber's matchup? St John's needs to get off to a fast start & keep their foot on the gas! Hard for me to get a feel how this game will go. I hope they're prepared & are able to make a statement, though! GO JOHNNIES!
