Yep, he's classless.  He gets two trophies.  If I were a St. Thomas fan I'd be greatly embarrassed.

Your thoughts??

I especially like the 33 yard run late in the 4th quarter to hit 80+ and the 4th quarter field goal up by 70.

They went for 2 up by 60!!??
Let me channel my outrage.

Actually, I'm ok with it.

I could argue that the bigger picture is, there should be a change to the D3 football model.  Winning games by 80 points does nobody and good, yet we all know it happens.  The hand wringing just is aimed in a different direction each weeek.

There are 240+ teams, but the top strata of 25 teams or so will always clobber the bottom 50 or so.

But that's another discussion for another day.  Brackets baby!

Herewith an observation (not an accusation): as an outsider to the MIAC, I don't know if Caruso is a saint in ordinary street clothing, the Beast from the Bottomless Pit, or merely a creature with feet of clay like the rest of us ... but a 97-0 score is -- damn it all! --  an abomination, no matter the possibly legitimate justifications offered.

St John's vs North Central (IL) in the 1st round. If they can defeat North Central they'll most likely face UW-Oshkosh in the 2nd round. OUCH!

How does a team not even ranked in the top 10 get a home game???

Here Here .... or Dilly Dilly!!!

We can debate how we got there, or the Hamline game, or SJU /CSS, or any other 60+ point score difderentials. But, I think all can agree it's not great for D3 football. There are huge gaps in talent. The worst part of the scores above is they didn't even occur against teams that were at the very bottom of D3 either. I won't begin to come up with an answer for this

Well... that was interesting. St. Thomas and St. John's won't face one another until the Stagg bowl - how awesome would that be?

Johnnies road - North Central, Oshkosh, Wartburg/Trine, Mount Union

Tommies Road - Eureka, Berry, UMHB, Delaware Valley

Johnnies have the tougher row to hoe in my estimation.

And the Tom$ aren't even a top 4 seed?

That was never going to happen given the criteria and UST having the Stout loss. Curious if UST hosts round 2? Both were #3 in last regional rankings. I like Rounds 1,2, and 4 for UST if they continue to move forward.

SJU got royally screwed, and this of course is coming from a Tommie. CCIW champ on the road followed by UWO.

Bummer that SJU is on the road.  :(

U$T might just as well continue playing o-linemen in the backfield.  Eureka is in for a hurting.

A tradition unrivaled...

Well a Johnnie run to the championship game will look like:

@ North Central
@ Oshkosh
@ Wartburg, and
@ Mount Union

After that the Johnnies get a championship shot at either UST or MHB.  That's a pretty tough schedule right there.  Almost as rough as 2000...

Stagg Again!!

Cardinals feel the same way... #6 v. #9 in the first round with the opportunity to go to #3 in the second round.  NCC and SJU both got screwed; we just got a little less screwed with a home game.  Looking forward to hosting the Johnnies.
