I have always been polite on here considering all the MIAC teams. But for the past 3 months of reading posts that gave no credit to UST's opponent that day it gets pretty old.

And no USTBench, let's not kid ourselves. UW-Stout (5-4) had a good team this year that played in the WIAC meat grinder. Two losses on the road at Whitewater and Platteville were very close. Oshkosh and La Crosse were the only other 2 losses.Your comments, and others I've read here over the past 3 months were insulting to the victors of the UST/UWS game.

Since this is the MIAC board I'll stay to the side now, be the nice little WIAC guy that came to visit and never leaves. However, my Minnesota street credentials are as strong as anyone on this board, bar none.

If UST showed up to play against UW-Stout that wouldn't have happened. Can't blame the committee on that one.

Unless someone was wearing a Caruso Halloween costume and dozens of other guys borrowed all the Tommie football uniforms, they did show up for that game.

TECHNICALLY.

This is as TECHNICAL as I need to get.

Any further references to "Didn't show up" or "Stubbed their toe" is an insult to both teams and their coaches that were on the field that day.

It should be insulting to UST. That was the whole point.

All that matters is who was better at the end of 60 minutes, on that day it was Stout. Tip of the cap. But let's not kid ourselves.

I'm not sure if they're scheduled to play in 2018, but if they do, I'll give you UW-Stout +20. If I lose I'll where a Blue Devils shirt to Tommie/Johnnie.

I think it was the 2nd year of a 2 year contract.
Pretty sure we have UW-Eau Claire again, but not sure who our 2nd OOC will be. I've heard possible NAIA team.

All good BDB.  Stout took care of business that day, no question, and they deserve a tip of the cap.  The loss really woke up UST and they responded by getting their act together and running the table.

I'd much rather see Stout on the schedule next year vs. Eau Claire.  EC has been a traditional opponent and they're probably ideal to open the season with, but put me down for wanting better games.

Wrestling Update - No. 2 (D-III) Augsburg improves to 5-1 in duals, claimed 8 of 10 bouts in 35-9 win over Division II MSU-Moorhead.  Auggies compete at St. Cloud State Holiday Inn/Husky Open on Saturday.

Augsburg's No.8 ranked (DIII)  Tanner Vassar with a very impressive 13-2, major-decision win over MSU-Moorhead No. 7-ranked (D-II) Adam Blees.

Not surprised at this outcome but for the wrestling fans out there, I submit this report.

Thanks for the update. Now that we have an Augie grad as coach maybe we'll be able to compete in the future.

I was very complimentary of Stout, they beat UST straight up, and the Tommies could not get a first down to save their lives in the second half. Also, the more games Stout won, the better it was for UST. But then Stout looked terrible against a 3 loss UWW team, and I had to switch the narrative. You just got caught up in the spin zone. The committee reads the boards you know.

Also, you should take my bet if Stout and UST play next year. The stakes will be yuge!

UMHB/Brockport will be over in the first quarter.

Depends on who gets the ball first. Even Northwestern hung with St. John's for a quarter, I remember reading somewhere.

Ugh. How 'bout no! If you're going out of Division III schedule an NSIC team. They've changed their rules on scheduling outside of the conference. Could be chill.

The NAIA thing would stink. UST has not published an open date with D3 or football scoop so I assume they have someone or have a contract all but signed. I hope its not NAIA.

Re: Stout. They played a great game on that day. They won with what was their backup QB at the time. The UST offense was stymied, and the defense encumbered by a couple of unfortunate pass interference penalties. It reminded me of the UST 2012 non-conference game against Eau Claire. UST actually got more outplayed in that game and really truly deserved to lose that one. The UWEC QB gift wrapped an interception that handed it to UST. That UST team went to the Stagg Bowl. I have no problem with saying in that year or this year that the outcome would have been VERY different with the team we saw at the end of the year. I don't think that's a shot against Stout. I hope both Stout and Lacrosse continue to build on their momentum from this season.

The Bob & Steves has me very curious if that came first or if Bobby & Steves did in the cities?

But then Stout looked terrible against a 3 loss UWW team, and I had to switch the narrative.

The Whitewater loss had 2 sides to the coin. While Whitewater was 1-3 at the time, unbelievably it was their first home game. That includes a road loss to Oshkosh and games in Bloomington IL., St. Louis MO. and of course, Moorhead MN. If you have never been to Whitewater WI., I'm here to tell you that a road trip to Moorhead is a plane trip and a half in the Big 10, not a bus ride. So, with the bad start and it being the Warhawks first home game made it a tough assignment for anyone going in there at that point.

The game was a defensive battle. Both teams only gained 221 yards apiece exactly. Stout blew it with the turnovers that gave Whitewater 2 short fields where they took advantage. Competitive game, Whitewater did more to win. What the future holds down there with the current staff will be interesting to watch.

PS: Wondering what I said in this thread to earn -2 K's but oh well.

I don't give -K, unless someone is a REAAAAL bozo. So it wasn't me  ;)

Seriously, as much as I get bored seeing the same two non-conference games every year, I'd like UST to have another crack at Stout. Probably our true rivals now, since SJU can't beat us anymore.

Yeah I know it wasn't you USTBench. For those that aren't aware, Bench and I are friends. Above is a picture of us before the game we've been talking about.

I have him in my phone. If I really wanted to beef with him I'd do it that way.  ;D

Whew! I thought we might have to put out an APB for Bench after BDB had him swimming with the fishes. BTW, I agree, UST should keep Stout on the schedule and ditch EC. Then, they should try to pick-up Scholastica so they can boost their SOS.  ;D

I'd be open to an NAIA opponent if it was an upper echelon team. Not interested in a meaningless tune-up against Presentation. Wouldn't mind Morningside or someone
