I have always been polite on here considering all the MIAC teams. But for the past 3 months of reading posts that gave no credit to UST's opponent that day it gets pretty old.

And no USTBench, let's not kid ourselves. UW-Stout (5-4) had a good team this year that played in the WIAC meat grinder. Two losses on the road at Whitewater and Platteville were very close. Oshkosh and La Crosse were the only other 2 losses.Your comments, and others I've read here over the past 3 months were insulting to the victors of the UST/UWS game.

Since this is the MIAC board I'll stay to the side now, be the nice little WIAC guy that came to visit and never leaves. However, my Minnesota street credentials are as strong as anyone on this board, bar none.

I was very complimentary of Stout, they beat UST straight up, and the Tommies could not get a first down to save their lives in the second half. Also, the more games Stout won, the better it was for UST. But then Stout looked terrible against a 3 loss UWW team, and I had to switch the narrative. You just got caught up in the spin zone. The committee reads the boards you know.

Also, you should take my bet if Stout and UST play next year. The stakes will be yuge!

"The stakes will be yuge!" you be doin' gooder all the times...

Some of you may have already watched this, but there is a nice tribute to John Gagliardi. Enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHEdhXGqXaw&t=94s

Some good video of Webster here and an interview. I can't hold anything against him for transferring from Augsburg after hearing him say that his dream has been to run out of the tunnel in a Gopher singlet. Would be nice to have him though.

He doesn't need to be a Gopher to do that. Probably frowned upon, but still.

I think UST did just fine against the best team in D3. It may take some time, but have faith in the process. They will get there. It took Coach Fredenburg and his staff 19 seasons to win their first title. I think in some ways UST leaves this game with more confidence knowing that what they are doing is working and that they can hang with some exceptional athletes. I mean, the defense held the #1 team in the country to one score and -16 rushing yards. That's a huge accomplishment and something they should be proud of.

I think UST's QB play was fine, considering the opponent. Could he have played better? Of course. Did he miss some throws? Absolutely. But Perra did not cost us this game. If you look at his stats, I'd wager he probably did better than most QBs this season against UMHB's defense.

To me, the issue all year has been the offensive line. They've allowed too much pressure the entire season. In 2016, UST allowed a total of 13 sacks all year. UST played four straight games last year without allowing ONE sack. Fenske was a good QB, but he was not known for being mobile. This year the OL gave up 40 sacks! I'm not sure what the issue is up front, but I think this needs to be factored in when evaluating Perra's play this season. We had four of the five OL return this year (Daulwater, Longstreet, Beck, and Lamke), but the play on the OL did not improve. They gave up 7 sacks today. Hopefully with spring ball they will use that extra time to find guys that work well as a unit...kind of like our defense.

A bright spot was Gabe Green. Wow. The kid is an athlete. If Pallini can get his groove back, UST might have a good set of WRs next year.

Another bright spot, UST returns about 7-8 starters on defense next season.

They didn't play the best team in d3 ;)

Undefeated, Defending National Champions! They are the best in D3 until they get beat.

Told you UMHB wasn't the best team in d3 :)

Congrats to Mount Union! I watched the game and I thought Mount Union was solid in all aspects including their punter. Larry Kehres looking out of that little window was odd but hey, whatever works for him.

Congrats to UMU...again.  I didn't catch the entire game, but what I saw was an incredible battle.

What scares me is that so many impact players on UMU are underclassmen.

Before Pat releases the D3 Top 25, I'll toss out my imaginary vote.

1. Mount Union
2. Mary Hardin Baylor
3. Oshkosh
4. St. Thomas
5. Brockport
6. Wartburg
7. Delaware Valley
8. Frostburg
9. Linfield
10. North Central
11. Berry
12. Wesley
13. Hardin Simmons
14. St. John's
15. Illinois Wesleyan
16. Wittenberg
17. Washington and Jefferson
18. Case Western Reserve
19. Trine
20. Husson
21. Springfield
22. Johns Hopkins
23. Wheaton
24. Concordia Moorhead
25. Whitewater

Numbers 13 through 22 are difficult, and are almost interchangeable. I know that Case won in the snow against Illinois College, but in a more "traditional" playing circumstance, I suspect Illinois wins the game more often than not.
