It looks like St Thomas is using StretchInternet for the live streams this year. So if I'm not able to make a game, I'll be able to use the MIAC App on my TV.

Any other UST fans going to the game tonight? I'll be there with my daughter (and maybe a few of her friends).

Projected high for St Paul at 6pm is still 88F. I don't have a good handle on how WBGT compares to standard F, but I wonder if the game start could be delayed at all. Weather.com shows 86F for 7pm.

PJ Fleck is wearing a long sleeve quarter zip and I don't see anybody going down for the count at the Bank.
Full report from OldAuggie later as I think he's at the game.

The Gusties & Johnnies may have a delay even with a 7:00PM projected start time.

There is a chance the boys get back to campus after curfew  :o
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Oz, you don't have to convince me that when it comes to common-sense rules and laws involving the public safety of its citizens, Australia is light years ahead of us over in the States...!  ;)

In some respects yes, but in others no.  Australian politicians are quite heavily disposed toward we-know-better-than-you-itis and that leads to some odd, over controlled aspects of everyday life.  For example, you cannot turn left (ie, right) on a red light.  But Australia, like the USA, is a child of the Anglosphere so it's a very liberal place (with some notably unfortunate exceptions).

Any word if there will be video of the SJU v GAC game tonight?

Pipers / Tommie$ kick off at 6pm and the temp is suppose to be 90..they started warmups at the warmest time of day!!! Currently at 5:21 pm the temp is 92 and the "feels like" temp is 96....it's
f-cking horrible outside!

Food for thought on the weather policy.
Based on conditions at River Falls ... (readings are from Lake Elmo Airport)
WBGT at kickoff (noon) 82
WBGT at halftime 80
WBGT at conclusion (3:30) 82
WBGT at 6:30pm   84

Not sure the new policy worked as intended.

I gotta say that playing a game at 1:00 in the cities today would have been brutal.  I was drenched in sweat just from tinkering around the yard!

Jonnies D looked pathetic tonight.

Veldmann is very good, and they made him look it!

Boy, did they. The end score was as expected but it does not reflect the closeness of the play. It ended up that the Johnnie offense was balanced and effective enough, but the starters played nearly the whole game. The defence was solid on the line but the backfield was away with the fairies and getting torched with regularity. I'm not sure how the Gusties only scored twice.

The Gustie QB big recover battery was good. They paired up for three passes over 40 yards I think.  GAC played with passion and intent, certainly earning a deal of credit for this game.

The Johnnies, to be honest, were good. They just weren't spectacular. Not sharp. The score from a more dominating effort would have been similar, but the feel of the game would have been much different.

Or it could be that the coaches vote for the fifth best team in the MIAC is pretty good.  They took it to Stout last week and only lost on a last minute letdown.

Yes PJ was wearing his gold Nike 1/4 zip with maroon necktie which he wore all the way through his post game press conference last night. It is his "brand" as he wears the gold 1/4 zip or the maroon version with a tie no matter the temperature and I have marveled at his layering system on the coldest of games too. He runs up and down the sideline, always near the pass break ups it seems and he jumps up and down, celebrating with the players when they come off the field. It is just him and he never really stands still even if the WGBT reading at TCF is too high and it was too high yesterday but nobody is going to turn that aircraft carrier. I did hear of a couple ladies fainting in lines at concessions but the stands ran out of bottled water anyway so its not like they would have been able to hydrate if they had a chance. The U did talk about free water stations and "bring a clear bottle to fill with water" but I never saw anything like that. People were staying out of the direct sun as much as possible and clearly sales of Gopher merchandise were brisk as the vendors had a captive audience in the cooler concourses. It was a great day, especially if your seats were on the shaded side of the stadium.

Walking around campus after the game I noticed a bunch of fans lined up to see Gopher Volleyball but they did cancel that due to the temperature inside The Pavilion. Not sure if they checked the WGBT first or if they just decided "Too darn hot".
