I drive a Toyota Tundra 4X4 pick up with a 4.7 liter V8. I use the 4WD often while hunting or driving the 2nd daughter to Chanhassen in that big blizzard last year. We are recent empty nesters so those days are over. I need the truck bed for my dog boxes and 2 hunting dogs, the dead deer I haul in November (the blood washes out quickly with a hose) and the drift boat I tow during the summer.  I don't consider myself to be a red neck but I probably look like one while driving down the road especially with 2 dogs in their boxes and/or a dead deer in the back. I will never have country music on the radio at any time and even though I live across the River from Elk River I don't have those loud, extended, vertical dual exhaust pipes like all the Elk River guys drive while listening to their favorite country music. My wife and I both park in the garage every night and not because we are worried about crime but it keeps all of the clutter down in the garage. Some nights we forget to put the door down on the garage and never have any theft, well any that we know of. I like big cities a lot - Chicago, New York, San Francisco and DC are my favorite as they have it all. Minneapolis is getting better each year with new cultural opportunities and entertainment options. We live 30 minutes from downtown.
So I guess you don't like Elk River very much or country music. They're both O.K. with me  ;)
You like hunting & trucks. You're O.K. with me. :D
Browning, Remington or other?
Beretta shotgun for bird hunting and Winchester Model 70 .270 for deer.

Remington was fantastic and I liked the Wingmaster but recent business developments have ruined the brand.  Sad deal.

Elk River - no comment.
Mossberg 835 for multiple things. Hunt deer in Wright county in farm country so a slug barrel is needed.
CVA Wolf  muzzle loader when I go late season. A 50 cal muzzle loader bullet can go as far as a rifle, but it's O.K. to shoot that in slug zone, I don't get it.

Elk River scored 80 points last week & didn't throw the ball  :o
I have in laws that live there  ???
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

The wife and I both shoot classic Remington 1100s, and they're great shotguns.  Like you said, though, their newer stuff is questionable, and recent business developments have ruined the brand.

I'm actually looking for a new shotgun now, though I probably won't pull the trigger (see what I did there?) until next season.

Homecoming at SJU this weekend.  Fire up the bouncy houses!

Yes, but there's trucks and guns to talk about!!   ???

I like both of those topics.  I'll need to do a little poking into Carleton's stats, but I can't imagine it'll be a good game.  My kids will be pining for the Tundra by halftime.

I chatted with Carleton coach Tom Journell in last week's Friday podcast. It's about a 10-minute interview, starting at the 17:15 mark.

Interesting that only 25% of Carleton's roster (14 of 56) hails from Minnesota.  I realize that it's not an easy school to get into, but I wouldn't have guessed it that low.

Thus far, they're pass:run ratio is about 3:1.  They've gained 1007 yards through the air and only 164 yards on the ground.  They're QB looks pretty decent.  I can't imagine the Johnnie defense is going to give them more than about 70 yards on the ground, at least until the younger guys get into the game.  The Johnnie secondary looked a little susceptible versus GAC, but I don't think that Carleton's QB is as skilled at Veldmann, nor does he have the supporting players.  This'll be a blowout.  I hope the pleasant weather forecast holds true.

How heavy? Can they be brought inside the house? We have a problem in DC with people stealing Vespas. Thieves cut the lock, load them into a truck, and takeoff. E-scooters seem attractive because you don't have to leave them outside.

I ride a kangaroo.

Surprising. Paul Hogan is a BIG Subaru guy. Figured Aussies just kind of followed suit with whatever Crocodile Dundee recommends.

That's not a car; THIS is a car.

As for our house, the wife doesn't need a car. She drives me. She's ridden me halfway to the nuthouse already.

I like Browning Citori or Cynergy as well but I have been using my Beretta Onyx for so long that it would be foolish to switch now. I bought the Onyx in 1991 so it is purely muscle memory driven now.  I missed a wide open shot on a grouse on Sunday though.  Rusty.

Speaking of hunting, I have an extra pair of Barbour Tweed Sporting Breeks that I was going to put up on Ebay. They're new with the tags.  I bought them as a backup pair, but they were never used. Retailed at over $250, but I'd give a heavy Post Patterns Discount. If anyone is interested, let me know. They look very similar to this pair:
