Times change.
I was a Freshman John's first year. He kind of looked just like another upperclassman. I'm not sure there were 50 players on the team and several of my classmates started. One classmate (Chuck Froehle) was 3 time All American GUARD. He was listed at 6-1 and 220. I have some memories but you all know I do not read or write posts over 5 lines long.  :)

Rumor has it that there's a population of feral Bennies roaming the woods just outside Collegeville. They've been there for decades, but locals are starting to complain about property damage. Some say these Bennies are also disrupting the local food chain. Have any of you Johnnies ever seen one in the wild?

Will the pajama crew be traveling along to lay down to allow St. Glenn to cross any puddles without getting his feet wet?

Down in the city, we have more modern ways to avoid getting your feet wet. Things like concrete, drainage, and closed toe shoes.
You haven't spent much time walking the city streets and sidewalks the last few years have you? Streets and sidewalks are ****ty despite our excessive property taxes...and the city of St. Paul doesn't have a clue how to clear snow ❄️ in the winter!  Must be U$T engineering grads working for the city!

Things I know:

- There will be no SJU running game
- Erdman will have have to make plays with his feet
- UST will be called for 2 careless penalites
- No fakes or 2 pointers from UST
- Big games always come down to special teams and turnovers
- These John stories are awesome, keep 'em coming.

Things I think I know:

- If SJU gets inside the red zone, they'll actually have a decent change of scoring
- The bell in Perra's head will go off when it should and he'll take off and run or throw it away to avoid negative plays
- Somewhere in the game a fullback will make key play for a big chunk of yardage.  It will be glorious
- I expect UST will earn time of possession in the 33/27 range.

UST 32 SJU 21

So UST has allowed a total of 28 points in its first five games. SJ2 is a solid team, but do you really think they're going to put up nearly as many points as those five teams combined?

Such as last week after an Erdmann run, slid to a stop laid out on the ground and Bethel DB #8 thought is was O.K. to lead with the helmet. That kind of careless penalty?

This would not be unusual for the SJU FB to get the ball inside the red zone
Things I know:
SJU O Line needs to put together a complete game.
SJU D needs to play disciplined and not fall for the typical UST signature plays, 3rd and medium-long, QB rollout right then throw back across the field to a TE who released when the LB or SS over pursued. This is nothing new, it's been happening for 10 years.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Do we set the over/under on SJU Rushing Yards at 1?

We haven't seen much for 2-point attempts for UST so far (aside from that oh so scandalous kneeldown at 73-14). Maybe we're holding onto it for SJ2.

UST rushing game is a definite advantage. QB passing is pretty much a push. SJU has some studs on defense but as a unit, I'll stick with our guys.

We haven't seen Perra get pressured too much so far, so he hasn't needed to use the wheels but they are there when he needs them.

Wagner has had some nice runs as FB. I could see him getting a few of those Molina carries.

Can't wait!

So SJU has allowed a total of 29 points in its first five games. UST is a really good team and will put up more points than those five teams combined.

I'm not sure. I think this is going to be a lower scoring game for UST and SJ2.

Jackson Erdmann is going to the Super Bowl!

Psst -- Sugar Bowl. But really cool regardless. :)

I would like to imagine there is a Tommie alum behind this who orchestrated it as a Tommie Johnnie week distraction for Jackson.

In any event, a great honor. Congrats to him.

I've heard that Caruso is becoming increasingly strict in his high-priced pursuit of national glory and a D2 opportunity.  I've heard he won't stand any nonsense. Last Saturday, he apparently caught two fans climbing over the stadium wall and was extremely angry with them, confronting the pair with some small physical intimidation even. He grabbed them and yelled: "Get back in there and watch the game until it finishes!"

As of a fan of UMU, I have experienced both entities that are SJU & STu.  SJU ripped & earned the respect right out of UMU in 2003 by beating their arse.  STu'd has done nothing of the sort.  I will not mention (because I have a million times) the issues with St. Glen.

I think on paper STu is probably better.  I think the passion, homefield atmosphere, and heartfelt fire for the man that is/was/will be SJU might just carry them through.  It should be a good game.  (Back to original UMU programming) It won't matter in the end because Mount is "The Machine".

I keep threatening my wife I WILL go to one of these games.  Her answer..."shut up you travel enough".  And my answer after many failures at this "relationship thing"...yes love, thanks for keeping me in line.  Enjoy the event/atmosphere/moment that is this game.  I envy you guys.
