Well said art. If the Raiders win, it's a bit muddled as to how to rate the teams that made it to the Quarters. The easier task, at least for the top 4, would be a decisive Cru win. Granted this is a lot of navel gazing, but what the hell else is there to do when your team is not in the Final.

FWIW:
The panel of experts has it UMHB - 6 to 2

Before the kick-off of the Stagg Bowl I want to go on record with my prediction. UMHB 27 UMU 13

Now, if this comes to pass, (which with my track record for picking winning teams seems a bit unlikely), I think the Johnnies could make an argument for being the #2 team in the country. The wider the spread if the Cru wins, the better the argument. If the Purple Raiders can pull off the minor upset, then that goes out the window.

After watching the Cru play both the Johnnies and the Warhawks back to back, it is my opinion that the Johnnies were the better team. Had they played this year I am almost certain that the Johnnies would have defeated the Warhawks - but we'll never know.

Tipping my hat to MUC57 when I say, "Go everybody!" - even though I know he is rooting for the Purple Raiders.

Yeah. Go everybody, mostly UMU! Tough call at this time of year. Every team has guys that are dinged up. UMU and UMHB are no exceptions. UMHB has "home field advantage", I guess. Will that be enough? Hope not. I'll keep the fingers crossed and hope for the best for my team. I'm a UMU alum so will always be a fan. They're my team. Period! GO PURPLE RAIDERS!
I'm old! I get mixed up and I forget things! Go Everybody! 🏈 ☠

I don't see any point in making such arguments.  You don't get trophies for rankings (at least not in DIII).  ::)

Go Raiders!

UMU 31 - UMHB 24

Mount Union has been there and done that too many times before to lose this game.

At least it's a slightly less dumb thing.to argue about than most of our off-season discussions.

In terms of last year it means not much at all, obviously.  But in terms of building the hype train and getting through the next 9 1/2 months until football starts again it does me just fine.  THAT close.  Next year one step further.
