KR,
Yup, it's not only the loaf that became a legend . . . your mom and I were witnesses to history.  Nothing worse than being debagged at St. Ben's.

Having Sister Mary Mark doing the de-bagging only probably served to make it worse!

My mom mentioned something about it being cold in the dorms that night whatever that means..... :-\
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

Olefan, sounds like there'll be plenty of speed to go around on Saturday.  The SJU turf isn't that fast, though, but much faster than that watered-down bog in Northfield.

Johnnies in a 'stomp!

It pains me to say this, but the SJU fans might be right.  If the Oles are banged up then they have no shot at winning the game.  Gant is Olaf's best receiver and without him they are a run only team.  Matt Penz is good, but his lack of experience will prevent him from coming through in a big game.  If Hutchins does not play the Oles cannot stop the pass.  If I were SJU I would focus my entire offense on throwing the ball and focus the defense on stopping the run.  Jay and Bobby are great players, but they are not good enough to win the game alone.  I am not sure if we should play the game now.  David takes on Goliath.

All I can say with all the SJU posters is wow.

I am probably St. Olaf's biggest athletic supporter.  I love my Oles.  I will admit that this Olaf team scares me.  They have a ton of speed and can score in bunches quickly.

What a difference a week makes!

Please don't start making excuses for your Olies now, wait at least until after they lose to do that!

SJU will focus their entire offense on getting into the endzone and their entire defense on keeping Olaf out of the end zone. I think it will work out just fine.... usually does.

KR,

I think this is what OleFan will look like on Saturday around 4pm...

Chasing MILFs since '82...

Willy Wonka

If Matt Penz is the starter, the Johnnies will be in trouble. Seriously, when has a Spartan not stepped up to the challenge? Nevermind that they - the undefeated, top-seeded team - got beat by defeated Rosemount in the first round of the playoffs. That's an aberration, no matter what the Post Bulletin's Sports Editor tries to tell me :)

I've heard from multiple sources - people who've played the Oles - that they aren't anything special. If they are injured too...Johnnies in a double monkey stomp (I can't believe I just said that)...
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

He got tackled in to a chain gang person.  I cannot believe that in college you do not have real officials running the chains.  If you think that a player might come close drop the sticks and get out.

I hate to see any player injured, but I almost hate to tell you this. The SJU chain gang has been franchised to a local Collegeville family for probably 15 or 20 years now. They're "real officials" and real nice people and they do their job well. Their name's Dumonceaux. You might've heard of them since the baby of the family has now worked his way up the ranks to be a defensive starter. His initials are MVP.

I think both teams will likely defer to the second half.  Most likely the team that must choose will take the ball.  Olaf has a ton of speed, and I think playing on a faster surface benefits them.  If injuries do not play a role, then this game comes down to kicking.  Both teams will score.  Both defenses will stop the offenses at times.  There will be punts.  I look for a FG from about the 30 to win it.  Someone's going to drill a long one.  Everyone likes the game winner, but I think this one will be early.  One team will win by a field goal or less.

Read this out loud with a southern accent. There, you just did a George Bush impersonation. ;D

Kilted Rat: I heard the entire SJU roster will be a "game time decision" there was some contact last week against Aug & some guys are banged up.
My source also noted John told the team this week "these guys are real good, you know they didn't just pull them out of the hallway and hand them a uniform". I would be surprised if maybe a dozens guys get enough courage to face the Oles ;)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Yet another nice article about the Oles in the Strib today: http://www.startribune.com/stories/503/5694232.html

"A couple of times each week, Chris Meidt knows a handful of his football players will show up late to practice. "Four of our five offensive linemen are pre-med majors," the St. Olaf coach said. "At a place like this, that's just how it is.""

Do you think that only happens at STO?  Come on...

Chris56317, that would be great if you could bring the wild rice brats for the Stiftungsfestivities. Please bring along some buns.
And why did I wake up at 3:00 a.m. this morning? Already getting wired for tomorrow?!!! Good excuse to get the burgers pattied up. When I went out to the meat market yesterday afternoon, there were three sides of beef hanging outside the market over the sidewalk. Evidently this is part of the special processing for the Stiftungsfest burgers. Only in Norwood Young America. How special is it to live in a county where you have towns that are named New Germany, Cologne and Hamburg? And I shouldn't forget the township named Hollywood. Head south to Sibley County and there is my ancestral hometown named Green Isle.

57Johnnie, no calls from the pres on the nomination. You can add to that no calls from the governor on the nomination for the Minnesota Supreme Court. The State High School League will probably have to do for this year. :)

Hope to see everyone at the Stiftungsfestivities tomorrow morning. Oles, you are cordially invited! Starting time is 10:00 a.m. We are located in the parking lot behind the library, just above the scoreboard end of the field. The party goes to 12:30 p.m.

"There are so many wonderful things about St. Olaf," said Meidt, 36. "You could ask the question, 'Do they really need a championship football program to be complete?'"

The world will never know ;D

G'Luck this weekend, Johnnies.  I'm going fishing.

Shoes, I will be calling for updates Saturday if you are going to the game.  Don't swallow your phone.

AO, please come back.  I am nothing without you.
