TT, the important point is that the word "wasted" was used in reference to an opponent of the Twins and did not describe Mighty Royal or any other Bethel student/grad. It would be interesting to know how Mighty Royal even learned about the word wasted since we recognize that no Bethel student in the history of the school, even going back to the days of the Bethel Agriculture and Knitting Homeschool, has ever consumed any adult beverages while on campus.

I have a picture of the pike, but the file is too large...Can anyone tell me how to decrease the size of the file from a JPEG?

Mighty Royal

Do you have Photoshop or another photo-editing program that you can shrink it with?  Otherwise, just e-mail it to DuffMan (along with GPS coordinates, of course ;)).

Frank went to a psychiatrist.

"Doc," he said, "I've got trouble. Every time I get into bed, I think there's somebody under it. I'm going crazy."

"Just put yourself in my hands for one year," said the shrink. "Come talk to me three times a week and we should be able to get rid of those fears."

"How much do you charge?"

"$80 per visit," replied the doctor.

"I'll sleep on it," said Frank.

Six months later the doctor met Frank on the street.

"Why didn't you ever come to see about those fears you were having?" asked the psychiatrist.

"Well 80 bucks a visit three times a week for a year is an awful lot of money! A bartender cured me for $10. I was so happy to have saved all that money I went and bought a new pickup!"

"Is that so! And how, may I ask, did a bartender cure you?"

"He told me to cut the legs off the bed. Ain't nobody under there now."

Been waiting for a Cobber fan to check in.  Who will we see at QB..Rodel, Nelson, Scott Schumacher?

From talking to my bro, and other guys in the program. It seems to be Mr. Rodel's job this fall, I think that the Cobber offense will be in good hands.

Nelly, remember when Fisher and Halliday were the starting corners at one time, now that is a secondary to build around.

From what I have heard this summer I think Rodel will be the starting QB this year for the cobbers.  Like Nelly said he does possess Hebrink size, but might have more quickness.  I am not sure though.  I see that MSUM signed some guy from Weber State and I am sure when he finds out how bad of a place that is he will come across the cemetery and Rodel can go back to RB or WR.  Haha.  Good fishing MR.  That's all I got.

From Shooter today:

The University of St. Thomas, with 498 football victories in 101 seasons, expects this year to become the third Minnesota school to reach 500 victories. The University of Minnesota has 623 in 122 seasons; St. John's of Collegeville has 528 in 95 seasons.

Doing the math:
U of Minnesota: 5.1 wins/season
U of St. Thomas: 4.9 wins/season
SJU: 5.5 wins/season

I'd say that UST shouldn't expect anything when it comes to their football program, except to get pounded by the Johnnies!

Wow, that was a fiasco all right. All for less than 10 gallons of gas per car. They probably used 12 gallons getting there and hanging around all night. :P

Fins, as my MIACPP legal counsel, I want you to be reassured that this kind of thing would never happen to me, because the word "free" does not cross my lips.  :D

Bring a 6-pack of Hamm's to court in WI and you'll be admitted "pro hac vice" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pro_hac_vice)

Sounds like Allstate picked up the tab. Maybe they could just consider lowering their rates?

Actually, the WI S Ct appears to take this issue of practicing in WI without a WI license pretty seriously  - http://www.wisbar.org/res/sup/2004p/02-2002.pdf (a friend of mine was on the brief for the respondents, and I moderate a discussion list where he and the disqualified lawyer went at it - quite a show  ;D).

I'll help BDB on the smite issue.

Johnnie Red

I had the privilege last year of prosecuting a woman who was licensed to practice law in Illinois and Kansas for the unauthorized practice of law in Minnesota, which is a misdemeanor level offense. She used the pro hav vice argument as justification for everything, including filing a civil suit in Hennepin County without getting approval from the court or having a local attorney licensed in Minnesota sign the pleadings.

As you might suspect, she represented herself during the jury trial. That was rather interesting. The jury found her guilty on all five counts. She finally got an attorney licensed in Minnesota to represent her on the appeal. Still waiting for the Minnesota Court of Appeals to issue its ruling. To inject a little irony into the appeal, I got permission from the Court of Appeals to have a volunteer third year law student at William Mitchell write the appellate brief and also do the oral argument. He did a great job. And he knew how to follow the rules, unlike the defendant.

Take it from an insurance guy - this is the same company that markets accident forgiveness to the consumer for a fee.  So instead of surcharging you after your accident, they'll charge you up front and won't raise your rates afterwards.  But hey, if they can get people to buy into it, good for them.
