I think the Toms can most definitely run the table, especially since we are giving them underdog status. They won't come out asleep again like they did against UWEC.  They've got Concordia next week to rebound on and rebuild confidence. I expect they will. And they have SJU three weeks later after we play Bethel. Say SJU beat BU and are feeling pretty good about their chances... perfect time for the Tommies to pounce. Similarly if SJU lose. Suddenly the Tommies have been handed the chance to knock the Johnnies out of the season and salvage their own.

Nope. I look at the Tommies like a wounded animal. Most dangerous.

This is a reasonable take, Oz. You feeling ok?

All my takes are reasonable. :)

I feel the same way, Oz. It's especially dangerous given the rivalry. We all remember the eventual 2003 National Championship team that was nearly upended by the Toms (who were 3-5 at the time) in St. Paul at O-Shag-Hennesy.

The Toms could play dead for the next three weeks for all I care and I would still be nervous.

Yep. Any WIAC team should be treated with kid gloves as well. This was the UW-EC team that gave the MWC it's first win over a WIAC team (ever?). Predicted to be at the bottom of the league. And they put up enough of a fight and were coached well enough.

A wounded animal that still has teeth and claws. Maybe the claws aren't as sharp as years past, but we aren't talking about a wounded parakeet here.

I'm not even sure that the claws aren't as sharp. I think we have some young players that are very talented and coming into their own. The junior class is pretty soft, further impacted by the suspicious departures from last year's squad of a bunch of guys that made plays last year. The QB is new and finding his way. I really think this OL has the chance to gel into the best since the 2015 big boy line. The defense is strong and has had the tendency to give up some big plays the last few years, which is the flipside of playing very aggressively and stuffing the run (90% of the time).

Given the wake up call and the the other issues they have been dealt (or dealt themselves - or both) it wouldn't surprise me if the Tommies ran the table. Of course, there are more than a couple of teams that will have a say in it. Looking for a great MIAC race.
JOHNNIE for life.  :)

All this Tommie love is sweet.  Just a little bit nauseating, but sweet.  ;)

2 pair of twin juniors that played defense exited the program before the start of this season...right!

Love?  Ha!  You mistake clean, cold reasoning for love.  If I recognize that Pol Pot was efficient with the machine gun bullets then that's certainly not a profession of love.  In fact, it's the opposite.

Wait, they left school like dropped out or are currently at UST but decided to not play football? Four guys who were starters/major contributors who are incoming Jrs are not on the team and Charley Walters or Patrick Reusse didn't write about it? Something doesn't smell right.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

D O.C.

Pol Pot on the MIAC board, you gotta love it.

St. T team distracted by all this what did/will happen talk?

We've gone from "guys who made plays last year" to "starters/major contributors".  I like it!

Your right. Before posting, a little voice inside me said, "Pol Pot, Pol Pot" but I didn't recognize the connection. Thanks for illuminating....
