Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

What are the best pre-game gathering options near Allianz?

I think Plum's is doing a free shuttle, so considering that. Otherwise looking for something that might be easily accessible via walking or light rail to the stadium.
I thought you'd know this by now, a 40 of Olde English and ride the Green Line- that's all you need.  ;D

If I'm going to drink a 40 of OE, I'm going to need something to barf up too.
Little Caesar's Hot-N-Ready $5.00 Pepperoni. That way you can maybe get 2 OE and change from your $20.00  8-)

Little Caesar's.  That brings back the memories.  There was one in Waite Park in that strip mall just south of the Cash Wise.  It was so cheap, and still appears to be, that I used wonder what the ingredients were that I was eating.  Not that the worry ever stopped me.

Nice piece on the Johnnie-Tommie Rivalry from Frank Rajkowski:

What great article.  It really captured the significance of the rivalry.  Crowds of 8,000 in the 1930's for the game.  Amazing.  It will be missed.

I found it most humorous when he mentioned that if your turn to page 27 of the 1958 program...

I'm guessing that Van Erp (WR) is out.  He went down with what looked like a pretty bad knee injury last week.  Other than that, I think they're healthy.  Trost (RB) came out of the Bethel game with what looked like an elbow injury, but he returned to the game in the 2nd half and appeared fine.  Must have been a stinger or something along those lines.

A tradition unrivaled...

Great piece, nostalgic, the rivalry & game will be missed by all. Thanks for sharing.

The old photos are great. Also helps you realize how different the players look physically today with strength programs starting in 8th/9th grade.

Woe is me!
After enjoying my favorite candy bar for over 80 years I find out the new and 'better' Butterfinger sucks........ but not as bad as the Tommies.  :)

I enjoyed Frank's mention of the 2002 game. It brought back some great memories. That game was my first time attending a game in Collegeville. I was a senior in high school and I came for a campus visit that morning. I picked that weekend deliberately because I knew that the University gave touring prospective students tickets to the game. The campus visit was outstanding and the game was the cherry on top. I knew there wasn't any other campus in the world where I'd rather be.

Oooh nooo, not you too 57. Ironically, you'll be eating those words just like the "new and improved, better" Butterfinger, when your butterfingered receivers drop ball after ball on Saturday.

GO Tommies!

Just trying to liven up Johnnie/Tommie week while bemoaning the demise of Butterfinger.  :D

+K, Actually, the Butterfinger thing is news to me. That is one of my favorite candy bars as well. Are the old ones still available? I'll have to investigate this....
