Any early score predictions for UST v. STO next Saturday??

62-7

I'm agree, the Tommies will wallop them. But the Oles have become the sort of team that play with some enthusiasm when they gat a sniff of a chance. It will be an exciting game. Chippy.

That was a helluva run.  He can say what he wants.  ::)

That was an oddly refereed game.

A tradition unrivaled...

I actually think it might be closer than that. 51-14

RE: Officials
Got that impression as well, but lack of replays made it harder to tell.

Great run and, yup, you are so right.

No idea but those lovely Lutheran boys must have been talking a lot of 💩 because that penalty was way out of character for Jerdy. He could have ran for 150 today the way Olaf was playing D. They were dropping all but 2 lineman into coverage. He also took way more hits than we need him to. In the second half Olaf wasn't rushing anybody and dropping 9 into coverage...and Jackson still picked them apart!

The Johnnies had 751 yards of offense and 99 penalty yards.  A ridiculous stats line due to the fact that the Oles hung tough for the first half.

Yeah, fun to watch a gimmick defense. Even more fun to watch it give up 11 yards per play.
In prep for the game the DC says to HC- "Im going to dare Erdmann to beat us with his arm, we'll drop 9 in coverage, he won't know what to do!"
So, how did that work out?  ::)
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

I was out working on my pickup all afternoon and listened to the end of the Bethel game, they were up 21-0 when I started listening. Then I flipped over to the Auggie-Gustie game until it was done. Inside now for the night checking in on things.

Jackson is a good, tough runner, but he really makes me nervous.  We are one injury away from being slightly above average on offense.

Not that I'd ever need to see it again, but it was kind of fun watching them convert from 1st-and-35 . . .

Exactly.  It's not his legs that we need him to use.

I think the offense will need to work on some "they are begging us to run with only two rushers who aren't even rushing so let's run" setups.  Keep Barber in the backfield for the delayed handoff, etc.  Other teams will surely show the same thing just to see if the Johnnies get unsettled, which they were today during the first half.

Today, though, was ridiculous at times with all the linemen, on both sides, just standing there looking at each other.  The Ole d-linemen didn't even trying jumping to swat the ball when Erdmann threw it.  It was a style intended to cause disruption and it certainly did.  Was ridiculous.

From Bethel v. Cobber Game Notes:

- Bethel the only team nationally that hasn't given up a sack on the year
- Bethel one of 15 teams to have thrown 1 or fewer pics on the year
- Over Bethel's past 10 games (including 2018 playoffs) the Royals haven't allowed any quarterback to match his season completion percentage (on average holding them to 16% lower).

That last stat is most impressive to me: All told the Royal's D faced 4 Top 10 ranked teams and elite QB's in Erdmann (AA, MIAC MVP), Veldman, Sacia (ARC MVP), Rutter (CCIW Off POY, AA), etc. (three All-Americans, four conference MVP's, and seven All-Conference selections).

Those sure are some fun stats for a 2nd -place team to share.  :P

You just HAD to go there, didn't you.

If it isn't about SJU he has a hard time acknowledging another team's accomplishments and has to make some kind of derogatory remark about it.

So said accomplishments were extremely minimal...

RF, at least when Duff does it it's kind of funny in a dismissive sort of way. Not the case with everyone apparently
