Whew, DuffMan has returned from a week of sun, beer, and pulling bass out of the lake.  Glad to see after reveiwing the past 17 pages, I really missed nothing.

Congrats JR on the re-election.

Now, to get caught up on the pile of work on my desk.

I think I've recruited a few former BluGolds to make an appearance at the 9-2 Stiffyfest. I've also asked that they supply UWEC gear so I can be a true fan   8)
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Johnnie Red

Whoa Nelly, I was heading over to Victoria to run seven miles on the Victoria trail. No tri for me since I damaged my hamstring about a month ago. :-[ It had been tough not being able to run any 5ks this summer as I normally do. Remind me to start stretching sometime soon.

Always interesting to see that a fellow who I prosecuted for burglary back in 2000 for coming out to rural Carver County and burglarizing homes when the homeowners were at work was shot to death on Saturday night in north Minneapolis. When I sent him to prison his name was Valentine D. Riley. His new name was Pestelence V.D. El-Shabazz. He was killed and his fiancee was injured when someone shot them about 3:30 a.m. through an open window in a bedroom at their home.

Pestlence V.D. Might be a name Touchdown Tommy should consider.

MIACtrackguy,

The Johnnies' 2006 football roster will be posted on Monday, August 14 and then updated following each practice.

I know I haven't been on the board for awhile, but what the h*ll happened to your karma TT? Good Lord! ;D

I have been getting prepared for the upcomming season by listening to the archived Johnnie games on the net while at work. It makes for great "background". I am going to an outdoor concert on Saturday and will have to concentrate on the music instead of thinking about glorious Saturday afternoon football games. ;) I can hardly wait for fall....

Thanks...  What have you heard about the incoming class?

KR, the way you have this curse-a-thon thing going for the Twins, Pohlad is going to have to put you on the payroll.

Oh wait. Pohlad minus money = Fat Chance.  :-\

Sorry KR. But keep up the good work.  ;)

I haven't heard too much, but I know of two players from the MN high school all-star game that are matriculating at SJU this fall.  Bobby Klint (a defensive back from Totino-Grace) and Josh Rose (a running back from Litchfield) will be freshmen to watch for.  Also, I've heard that Mike Patnode and Mike Schumacher will (or already have) transfer in from Truman State University.  Patnode is an RB and Shumacher is a LB (and the brother of departed guard Luke Schumacher who graduated form SJU last year).

I also heard that there might be some stud LB out of California that will be a freshmen, but who knows how that will pan out ;D

That's all I know right now, but I'm sure that there is a host of fine players coming in.  My guy to watch for the year is sophomore WR Bryan Busack.  I hope to see some decent numbers from him this year.

Correct!  Bowfin aka the dogfish.  One of the hardest fighting species out there.  I'll up both of your Karma values!

It's a sad, sad day- my Hamline Student ID just came in the mail....    Just got back from two weeks down in the ghetto being force-fed Physics all day, and now they kick me in the nuts and remind me that I'm technically a Piper...     ;D
