Bummer.

BU over UST is certainly no gimme, but if they do win, the SJU crapping of the bed against Concordia will prove quite unfortunate.

It will be quite a bitter pill for the players to swallow if it works out that way.

The 1-2 combo of UST v UWEC and SJU v CON has seemingly most hurt BU.  Now that's strange.

Perhaps, but UST could probably have gone winless, as long as BU's only loss was to an undefeated SJU squad...UST's loss is a moot point.

If BU were in Playing an RR Tommie outfit then you would both be better off this weekend. Johnnies pooched it, no doubt, but a lot of breaks seem to have gone against BU and they were all distant to you.  Unjust.

Dean Foods aka Land O' Lakes etc files bankruptcy.  Isn't that the main bank roll of UST on WCCO?
Maybe I have it wrong, but if i don't wonder how that radio coverage might change.

That's a shame.  A Minnesota institution run over by the digital economy, I suppose.  I make my bread helping speed the digital economy along, but I still don't like to see the change.

It was a special bonding moment with my old man when he showed me how to cut the butter box out of her hands and then fold her knees up just so.

Dean Foods sells milk under the Land O' Lakes brand. They are not Land O' Lakes.  Land O' Lakes is fine.

Second round at UWW according to d3football.com projection.   That brainfart against CON was very costly.

EDIT:  And, it turns out, very costly for BU as well.

Interesting that the 19-0 result factors in (at least for this analysis).  Had BU closed out a couple of drives, and still lost, that could have been the difference also.

Based on Massey at least (extracting the non-participant NESCAC teams), this region has the #1 (Wheaton), #2(North Central), #6(Whitewater), and #10(SJU) teams in the country in one region. Isn't DIII lovely?

QuoteAfter more than 500 football games on campus over 115 varsity seasons, last Saturday produced a record statistic. The Tommies' 57-36 win over Gustavus, led by Josh Parks' five touchdowns, produced the most combined points ever -- 93 -- in a St. Thomas game played at Cretin and Summit Avenues.

The old record was 92 notched in 2014, also against Gustavus. That was a 57-35 Purple victory, led by five Brenton Braddock TDs.

That's a crazy record breaker, and a strikingly similar outcome to the Gustavus game five years ago. I love Gene tidbits.

I watched quite a bit of the game. It is very apparent to me UST doesn't have the horses in its defensive backfield it used to have. It fell off somewhere in the last few years. Wally K. is holding back on sending heavy blitz packages, leaving 6-7 guys in coverage on 3rd & longs and they still leave receivers WIDE OPEN. The safeties and corners look unathletic and lost, hence the points and yardage given up to Gustavus and SJU. Beyond that, the rest of the team is very similar talent-wise to what we have grown accustomed to the last decade.

I hate having the feeling like this is could be a trap game. It would suck going into the post season coming off a loss.

But, that's probably just me. Playing any non-conference opponent not named Crown, Martin Luther, Northwestern, et al late in the year always seems to get me nervous.

I'm hoping that the Concordia loss got that out of their systems.

Well, the Pool C mock went about how I figured. I do chuckle, when I raised some questions a few weeks back about Bethel's prospects and several posters on the boards scoffed "A one loss Bethel will never be left out." Still football to be played, but things are looking more and more likely that this is exactly what might transpire.

Still need to win Saturday for any of it to matter. Should be a great game.

Also, FWIW, Central @ Hope would be a great matchup. Two Dutch Reformed schools facing off would be all sorts of interesting.

If it didn't, I would have serious concerns about much of a playoff run.

Having said all of that, I still took the Johnnies covering the 45.5 point spread in the Pick 'ems.

I think the worrying is just my nature being a recovering Vikings fan (13 years sober)--no matter how good they are, something will go wrong.
