Greetings Veek.
Playoff time stimulate you?
Me too, especially the 2nd round.

DuffMan

I had to do a little digging after reading how many TDs the Aurora QB (Zimbelman) has thrown.  You'd think they're a strictly passing team, but the stats don't support that.

SJU:
334 rushing attempts for 1740 yards (24 TDs)
333 passing attempts for 3477 yards (34 TDs)
Erdmann is 202-316-7 for 3352 yards (32 TDs), 182.0 efficiency rating

AU:
373 rushing attempts for 2153 yards (16 TDs)
385 passing attempts for 3189 yards (51 TDs)
Zimbelman is 241-383-9 for 3182 yards (51 TDs), 172.0 efficiency rating

Obviously, the numbers can be skewed by blowouts, and realistically, SJU had 4-5 games in which Erdmann didn't play much of the 2nd half.  It appears that could be the case for Zimbelman, too.  Zimbleman is also AU's 2nd leading rusher, so it appear he'll run the ball a fair amount, too.

That 51 touchdown stat, though, blows my mind.  The kid had 4 games with 7 TDs this year!  I am looking forward to see this team in action!

Veek, my man!  How's the new cooler?  ;D

We'll try to stop by, but getting to campus early seems to never happen, especially as games get colder.

Duff, this makes cooler #3 for me.  I have won two and my father gave me his when he won one.

Our canopy has walls that we install when it is cold.  Last week they made their inaugural debut!  We had to unzip the corners so a little air could flow through as they were acting like sails but they did the job.  Luckily, Dana had ratchet straps along so we were able to secure the corners of the canopy to two trucks.  Hopefully you can stop by and check it out.
The new canopy is a nice touch for the tailgate lot.  I especially like the championship years being off-center so more can be added.

I wonder if it was a true resignation or some pressure/or else from the administration.

That'll be an interesting opening. Wonder who the candidates might be?
I have noticed wrestling coaches "resign" and this feels very similar.

You can't swing a dead cat in the Metro without hitting a former Auggie football alum coaching somewhere.  Maybe one of them?

Derrin Lamker - Head Coach at Edina

Scott Hvistendahl - University of Northwestern WR coach (Hazz knows him or is an inlaw of his - AO must know him)

Drew Privette

Someone from outside the school will probably take the job. SJU has an Auggie for a wrestling coach so why not a Johnnie for a football coach at Augsburg?
An interesting list OA.  If they're looking for a fresh start or to go a new direction his long relationship with Haege might hurt Privette.  Lamker has the head coaching experience, but not at the college level.  Hvistendahl has some college experience, but not head coaching experience.  Both are highly thought of over there.  I could also see this being an attractive position for someone wanting to take on a challenge and do things his way, I suspect the new coach will have freedom to try things his way.

DuffMan

Players that I am glad are graduating:
GAC's Michael Veldman --> 219-319-12 for 3188 yards and 39 TDs
U$T's Josh Parks --> 176 rushes for 1249 yards and 18 TDs

I'm confident that the remainder of the MIAC won't shed a tear that Erdmann is graduating.  ;D

Based on quick glances at drive charts the balanced stats for Aurora are a little misleading. Bigger run games happened in the second half of blowouts or when they weren't moving the offense through the air. One wideout accounts for ~33% of passing yards and 40% of the TDS. Throw in the TE and you've got half your production. Didn't look like starters were replaced by two deeps much.

Hence, my caveat:  ;)

Did the west region committee do their regional ranking to give the best chance to their Pool C candidates to get in? There were a few other options of teams that could have been ranked ahead of Monmouth or even Lacrosse? By having them though Wartburg and Whitewater were guaranteed wins over regionally ranked opponents, a defining criteria according to the selection committee. If this is the case, why would regions not fill their 8,9, and 10 slots with teams that help their best Pool C candidates the most?

That concludes my conspiratorial rant for the day, back to your regular scheduled programming on Aurora scouting reports

While we're on the topic of rookies, welcome to the boards, 13! Is the number an indicator of your graduation year? or perhaps a jersey number during your playing days?

I reckon Oz or ROR have read you the board rules: fishing, beer, Aussie Rules Football, general allusions to the licentious nature of women who work the corner of Cretin and Summit in St. Paul, and, oh yeah, D3 football are all fair game. Political talk will get you shunned in a hurry. The others will fill in where I've omitted anything.

That fart noise you just heard was Tommie supporters talking about the Summit League and being an institution comparable to Boston College.
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

Thanks, BoF.  The championship years being off-center was Larry Schultz's idea and I loved it!  I am hoping we can blend 2019 in so it isn't too obvious!  ;D

Hi D O.C..

It must be the playoffs that stimulated me but SJU has been in the playoffs for a number of years recently and I haven't posted.  Maybe this is SJU's year or maybe I am just happy that we found a kicker before the playoffs!
Go Johnnies!!!

Thanks all for the welcome, and I appreciate getting to understand the lay of the land. 13 is reference to the grad year.

‘13, a spring chicken!

The hype video is up.  The Johnnie doing these is sure good with the editing skills. Always impressive.

I do chuckle, though, at the Lord’s Prayer being a battle call.
