Alright, duffman, the premonitions came over me today and this will be a blowout one way or another.  Turnovers will set the day.  One side will give up four and that will be the killer.

I don't know which side will win but my trick knee was feeling a blowout.  The game is too hype to be close.  Him's nervous.  ****ting bricks.

****ting bricks.

I don't think you should say that.

Sorry, ****tin' rocks.  ;)

Remember when Kevin McNamara set a record with something like 7 sacks versus Monmouth(?)?  That's what I am envisioning for each of the 4 Wheaties, except they are bigger and uglier than Kevin.  Erdmann won't throw any interceptions, though, because it's highly unlikely that he'll be able to get a pass off.

+1 I like the humor.  ;D

I'm going to let the airline tickets I bought for Saturday go unused as it appears there is no reason to attend the game is Wheaton has it wrapped up. Now I can reapply the sealant on my garage floor. Sounds like more fun  :-\
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

The passing game can be the great equalizer.
I don't imagine the Johnnie fans see their team this way, I see St. John's as the Aurora and NCC of the tournament.
Those teams went 1-1 to this point, and nearly 2-0.

Yeah, you're right.  I see Aurora and NCC as the Aurora and NCC of the tournament.

Observers are reading far too much into the Concordia loss and the SJU tendency to sleepily enter games this year.  I also think the MIAC's appetite for runaway destruction of the lower half is much less, this year in particular.  I think there are a few factors which have led to SJU not meeting expectations for a point-a-minute offense and a point-a-quarter defense.  But I have little doubt that this year's Johnnies are more dangerous than last year's Johnnies and I think most people recognize that last year's team was pretty damned dangerous.

But we'll see on Saturday.  We'll be the team in the distance leaving a dust trail in our wake as we streak away to the end zone, in case anyone was having trouble seeing us.
Oz I think you're right, having watched Wheaton on film this is a classic match up of johnnies speed D concept against Power Grit football. I don't think Wheaton has seen a D like this, this year. The key will be for our D to provide the offense time to take off, and Jackson to release quickly and use that pass rush against them. this is going to be an epic battle on the field.
Look forward to hanging with a Wheaton alumi Player from the 80's that I coached with.
This will be a defensive game in the 1st half for dominance.
Go JOHNNIES

I think that makes a postseason banter bingo!

And the "computers" would beg to differ on that statement. Massey's defensive metric has Ill Wesleyan, North Central and Wash U all better than the Johnnie D. The "speed d" have given up 73 points in two playoff games against two middling opponents. That cant happen in this game.

Weather forecast for Wheaton on Saturday:  High of 41, partly cloudy, wind10-15 mph.  Pleasant for early December. Would prefer less wind..

I'm glad to see Wheaton has turf. Grass fields in that part of the country get a weird mud-over-frozen-ground surface this time of year.

Between the Jays/Erdmann and Wheaton/4-horseman you guys are both unbeatable. The other 6-teams should just bow out and we'll call this week's game in Wheaton the Stagg.  :D

I think there's a fair chance that this is what happens when the teams first collide - we'll see.

Mr.MIAC

How many SJ2 fans will make the trip to Wheaton this weekend? It's a little too far to drive. I figure the average Johnnie can't afford the airfare; the Bennies are in a tough spot given those pesky weight restrictions imposed by the airlines; and most local Stearns County fans still think manned flight is the work of the devil. Does this mean we'll see a poor turnout for the game?

How do you measure poor turnout?  Something like average Tommie home attendance at O'Shaughnessy?  If that's the benchmark then I reckon the Jays will travel. ;)

More than St Thomas draws for a home game.

More than will be at the St Thomas playoff game this week.
