Dear God, please don't make us play Mac.  We have too many cream puffs already.  No entertainment value and does not help make the team better.  Unless you are talking about the 3rd string.

If St. John's didn't want the creampuffs on the schedule they would probably schedule a little more aggressively with their non-conference schedule. Would guess that behind closed doors the Johnnies brass are all for it.

Maybe like Aurora on Sept. 5?   :D

Aurora is a good game, but when was it scheduled? Before this season Aurora has had one winning season (6-4 in 2016) in the past 8 seasons and comes from one of the lowest ranking conferences in D-3 year after year. Most of these games are scheduled a year or 2 in advance, did St. John's go out of their way to schedule Aurora lately or were they scheduled before Aurora got good and it just worked out that way?

It is their right to schedule however they like on the non-conference, but if they schedule softly then it is a bit hypocritical to complain about creampuff conference opponents is all.

That's a good point. Everything changed for Aurora football once Don Beebe was hired as head coach on November 15, 2018. The question is whether or not St. John's scheduled that game against the Spartans before that date or not.

Since it was shown as an open date-my guess wouid be it was schedule in 2019.
Why does everyone assume that all teams want to play SJU-they schedule who they find with an open date and who want to play. If it was that easy, Pat wouldn't need to post the open dates for each school.
And Pat, of course, picked against SJU-no surprise. But i agree that in order to win they need to put up 35 or more.

Well tie me up and leave me for dead. Now CCIW is concerned with SJU scheduling.  Those are some pretty big tickets the Chicagoans have on themselves, that's for sure.

According to an interview I heard Fasching give, SJU was contacted by Aurora this season. At the time Aurora was 6-1 if I remember correctly.

This is football related but more of a personal story in my family.  My brother's only son, Scott, just completed his 14th and final radiation treatment yesterday.  A news station in Fargo / Moorhead produced a story about Scott's journey and the support he has received from his fellow teammates and classmates.  Here is the link: https://www.inforum.com/news/4808644-Moorhead-teen-surprised-by-outpouring-of-support-on-last-day-of-cancer-treatment#.XepQHGkM2_c.link

It is worth watching.

Go Johnnies!!!

Veek,

Thoughts and prayers for you nephew. He has a tough opponent but be confident as he is young and as strong as he can be considering the seriousness of his illness. My mom got cancer at age 80, and underwent 33 radiation treatments after which she had kicked the damn cancer in the ass. I'm sure Scott has a lot of support from friends and family alike. That support plus the medicine available today can be a powerful weapon in his fight, and ultimate victory so never give up! It can be done.

I believe what my good friend ROR was trying to say was that the Johnnies were never in favor of Tom Toss and to replace a conference game with Mac instead of the Tommies is not a step forward for the MIAC in spite of what the COL thinks.

Having another anxiety attack are you Oz. Just breathe into the paper bag and you will be alright.

I agree with you about these other conferences and they should just leave us MIAC guys alone to are own way of thinking. We just want to drink a can of Hamm's and eat some lutefisk. Maybe tell an Ole & Lena joke or two. Hey, here's one I remember my Dad telling me. Ole and Lena took their 5 little boys to church. The preacher remarked, " Such a nice family you got there Ole, looks like you got a boy every single time". "Nope" said Ole, "sometimes ve didn't even get a ting".

All us Scandinavians need to stick together and keep those non like thinkers out of here.

Agree with that, replacing St. Thomas with Macalester is not an overall win for the MIAC.

That is one selfless nephew you have. In the midst of the fight, using his Make-A-Wish to fill a weight room for his teammates who have stood by his side. I don't know much, but he seems like a special kid who will do some amazing things in the journey ahead!
