kub78-have a safe and enjoyable trip home.

Nice article about Bill Clemens and his contributions to the SJU football program in today's Daily Planet...
http://sctimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060728/SPORTS/107280005/1002

When I was a young lad and delivered the morning Tribune, Mr. C was one of the best tippers on my route. We had to go door to door to collect back then.
Since I can't afford the bucks to build the Finsleft Stiftungsfest Tailgating Emporium yet, here's a karma tip for all of you  :-*

fins, I used to deliver the Sunday Tribune for years. Used a big old black baby buggy!  :) The people out late from Saturday night would be driving by slow looking at this kid pushing a baby buggy down the sidewalk and get weirded out.

I was stopped by more than one cop car, wondering what I was doing.

Yeah, we had to "collect" in those days, didn't we. Worse part of the job.

I wish I could give karma to Mr. Clemens.  He's such a generous man.

Kubiak,
Have a safe flight back, I highly recommend a nice cold Hamm's as soon as you make it back to the north country!
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

Gentlemen,

The time has come to renew the great cursing tradition via my posting of pictures of various players (usually pitchers) of teams the Twins will be playing and the rest of the board attempting to come up with the best captions for those pictures.

The most recent curse effectiveness update can be found here.

Unfortunately, tonight's starting pitcher for the Tigers is Zach Miner, a 24-year old rookie so there aren't many pics of him I can find. However, he has lost his last 2 starts giving up 5 earned in 4.1 and 2.1 innings to the Royals and Athletics respectively.

Without further delay, here is Zach Miner, let him have it boys:

Since this is such a big series and because it worked last time at fFPM's request, I will also try to post a non-pitcher to curse as well for captioning.

What is Pudge screaming to the ump in this one?

MR,
Thanks, I wish I was clever enough to make stuff like that up!
Your avatar made me think of something,

How ironic is it that a dude who wears a full-body outfit of Spandex, weighs about 150 on a 5'10 frame, shaves his legs, hangs out in France, and sounds like he has a lisp and he tests positive for Excess Testosterone ???

Best quote from the Clemens article, not surprisingly, was by Gags
Quote"I always kid him that the big mistake I made was not getting a job with him when his company was in its infancy. He built that place up from nothing. If I had gotten in on the ground floor with him, I could be retired right now."

RB George Rogers, about the upcoming season:
"I want to rush for 1,000 or 1,500 yards, whichever comes first."

How is this not front page news worldwide?

Chorizo joins 'world-class wieners' in sausage races.

Note: Chorizo is a mexican hot dog.

Here's a sample of some of the great quotes from this article:

QuoteChorizo said through an interpreter his dream has come true.

Quote"I am very humbled to be in the presence of so many world-class wieners, but hopefully I can bring a little something new to the table, and Brewers fans will welcome me into their hearts and grills," Chorizo said in a statement that was read in both English and Spanish.

That was big on this morning's TV "News". Actually, chorizo is Mexican sausage (usually bulk ground) that can be delicious or awful, depending on who's making it.

Obviously pandering to the growing Hispanic market.  8)

Fins,
Have you been to Milwaukee lately? All there is anymore is  a Hispanic market.

My sister has an internship in Milwaukee this summer and to even apply you have to be fluent in Spanish.

TDT-
You'll just have to go to the games like the rest of us now.  :'(

This morning's 2 minute drill in the Daily Planet has this reminder (plus a bonus photo of Mr. Photogenic himself) about the SJU kickoff luncheon:

Frank-
Is Hamm's still considered a "Minnesota beer"?

I see the smite fairies were busy whilst I slumbered.  :'(

While it is still dubbed as from the land of sky blue waters, Miller owns it and I believe contracts it to be brewed by Pabst who owned it earlier...all I know is that it's might fine beer...especially on tap
Heaven isn't too far away,
Closer to it every day
