Q: What's the difference between Dubai and Abu Dhabi?

A: The people in Dubai don't like the Flintstones. But the people in Abu Dhabi do!   ;D
+k We need to keep up the jocularity.  :)

While I support the intent... That joke?  Come on.  :) :D :o

I just read that a pastor in Tampa was arrested for holding services. Not that I endorse or criticize his actions, but I ask the attorneys here to weigh in on the Constitutional issues with that action

I second the question.  Undoubtedly there are some suits working their way through the courts somewhere.

Maybe, just maybe about the right of the people peaceably to assemble?
Not that I endorse or criticize either.
My church hasn't had services for several weeks but the office is open.

I'll criticize. Churches have been a well documented source of transmission. Here in AL they traced at least 2 of our main outbreak pods to church services in early March. I know we don't arrest people for stupidity because we couldn't build jails fast enough, but in any state with 10 people or less restrictions churches should be closed voluntarily and services shifted online like most other service businesses.

And I think he's going to have a hard time fighting this because the way the local closure is written for Tampa it excludes churches, but sets limits on how many can assemble. So basically if he had let 10 people in the church, every 30 minutes, for 12 hours while doing 20 minute services, it would have been fine. He is going to pay his $500 because he let 200 people in all at once. Not because the church was supposed to be closed. No ban on religion, no ban on assembly. Simply a ban on EXACTLY HOW this idiot chose to assemble.

I think I can still go over to my church and get shriven as needed.

I wont sweat this guy spending time in jail. He makes a mockery of what the institution of a Church should be. How the heck does he find a flock the size he did to follow him when he spouts off stuff like below. Tampa has their own resident Jim Jones. And he spends time in the Oval Office and Mar a Lago.

"they are using Coronavirus and the World Health Organization to then come in and take over the control of nations and then they are going to bring in vaccines ... There's going to be forced vaccines, which they can kill off many people with vaccines. It's about population reduction because there are too many people on the planet, but with the correct vaccines we can shoot them and then they can die."

"We brought in 13 machines that basically kill every virus in the place," Howard-Browne said. "If they sneeze it shoots it down like at 100 miles per hour and it will neutralize it in a split second."

He also claimed he cured Zika and countless other asinine comments. The flock gives him millions for his mansion and Gulfstream.

Keep in mind the data that has come to light on the choir in Washington. 60 people had a choir practice March 9th. Within two weeks 45 were infected and two had died. The Champions League match in Bergamo and the Mardi Gras celebrations New Orleans are thought to be MAJOR contributors to where those two communities ended up 2-3 weeks later. The mode of transmission with COVID-19 might be the scariest part.

I hope I'm wrong but I'm thinking there's a chance the Johnnies and Tommie$ have played their last 🏈 game against each other.

I know I'm an outsider but I hope you're wrong. Mount Union has no comparable rival (maybe John Carroll or Baldwin-Wallace is close). I personally enjoy following all the hype leading up to the SJ2 - U$T, oops, I mean SJU - UST game. Not sure there exists anything like it in football.
I hope you're wrong. 🏈 🍺 😷

I didn't want to bring it up, but I have a sinking suspicion you might be right. Or possibly, games played without fans. Without easily accessible treatment all it will take is one player infected to derail everything. Kirk Herbstreit's recent comments also lend credence to the possibility.

I was actually just wondering about this game as well. But I kind of agree with people here. I mean, I don't know what the drop dead date would be for practices etc to start would be, but I just have a sinking suspicion that we're looking at 2020 basically being a no sports year

I doing my best to accept the reality is that my life is limited to my home and front and back yard (aka Puerto Backyarda) w a grocery or liquor store trip mixed in every week or two.

I'm high risk for Covid-19 if I get it. I won't be leaving the house until August
