I know this weekend isn't going the way we planned, but neither did the '87 and '91 seasons go by script.

Not to parlay all of that on this team, but you can never predict how things will go.

e. If the Twins didn't pay Lohse is $3.95 million this year, they might actually have to pay Liriano, Mauer, Morneau, Punto or Rincon closer to what they're worth.

f.  Garza?? pitched 127 pitches in a complete game shutout last week, start him in the bullpen like we did Liriano and gradually work him into starting line-up. Gardy wants him up ASAP and if nothing else, he'll get big league experience for next year.

Who would dare disagree that Lohse alone isn't worth $52,000 more this year to the Twins than Liriano, Morneau, Mauer, Punto, Rincon and Cuddyer combined?

Lohse is a scum bag.  He sucks beyond belief.  I've been preaching this for a long time (ask Lazy Boese).   I was attending a wedding/reception last evening so I didn't get to catch any of the game.  I imagine he was up to his usual antics???  Today's game is as close to a must win as there can possibly be in the month of July. 

As for Garza I am of the belief that if the Twins make any trade here at the deadline it will be for pitching not hitting (Soriano, Abreu, etc.).

KR: Mauer and Morneau are due for HEFTY pay raises as they are arbitration eligible after the season.  Let's hope they get locked up to long-term deals.  Let's remember that Terry Ryan offered Lohse arbitration the past 2 seasons.  Inexplicably Lohse beat the Twins 2 years in a row with sweet 7-13 records with an ERA hovering in the 5.00's.  While him winning his case and hence money last December doesn't make much sense to me, it was the GM's fault for offering him arbitration in the first place.  At some point 'potential' has to turn into production.  This guy is worthless.  I just hate him.

Lohse is doing nothing to help the team.  Call up Garza and put him, Silva or Baker in long relief.  Then they need to send down Eyre and call up Chris Heintz so they have a 3rd string catcher
