looks like SJ2 & CSB are inching closer to merging...https://www.startribune.com/college-of-saint-benedict-and-saint-john-s-university-will-share-a-president/569383032/

I'm not surprised given the corona shutdown.  There will be a hard focus on triming admin costs across schools all over the world and this is an obvious opportunity.

This quote is interesting:

Quote
The boards are still determining how a single leadership model would work, focusing on legal issues and “the optimal governance structure.”

As you head into summer we head into winter.  A nice fire keeps the 'rona away.  Or so I read on twitter.

Anticipating that there will be D III football this year

I am with you 57Johnnie. And I see the Devils have St. Olaf coming to town on September 5th so as is my want I invite any STO posters that would like to venture into Wiscy for the game to be my guest. Just send me a PM and it'll be my treat.

Having said that I'm not sure we have any regular St. Olaf posters? I know we have Texas Ole but I presume he is in Texas.

Maybe there are more, if so take me up on the offer.  1 hour east of downtown St. Paul.

Thank you for the invite.  As the name suggests I am in Texas.  That is also the dove hunting season opener which feels like an official holiday in the state.  I am planning on heading up for a few games this year for the first time in way too long.  I have a musky fishing trip planned at the end of September and am probably looking for a little steelhead/salmon on the Brule.  I am trying to convince some other Texans that this is a trip worth doing.
The spring steelhead season on the Brule is open right now.  :)
Do you think they are keeping a 6 foot distance?  :D

No better way to social distance than a little fishing and hunting.  We are entering the spawn so they might be social distancing.  (Insert all crappie fishing jokes as the big bass ones come next month.)

Kind of interesting news with SJU and CSB.  You have to wonder if this is a precursor to combining the schools and what that may do for them in the future.

I cannot remember not going to church on Palm Sunday. Don't know if we'll be able to get fresh palm. Last year's present a fire hazard.  :)

Hi 57

My church had a drive-up pickup for palms yesterday, for an hour, and for an hour today. Weird not being at mass today. Will be even stranger Easter Sunday.
Hope you and family are well and staying safe!

Good thought. The office/church is not open tomorrow but I will go over Tuesday and see if they have Palms.
Remember $10 Tuesday at Papa Murphy  ;)

Happy Palm Sunday everyone and upcoming Passover!  Easter is my favorite holiday so this isn't so fun right now.  My church is having online services while staying open for a few other special services.  Hopefully everyone is finding ways to celebrate and staying safe.

Yes, happy Palm Sunday for all.  Ours was like any other day.  Really disappointing.  And next weekend... something needs to change.

In other news, I took advantage of not being allowed to leave my house and spend 28 hours this weekend repainting my kitchen cupboards and putting on all new hardware. Saved myself a ton of money by doing it myself. Probably cost myself a ton with impending Chiropractor bill for being bent over cabinet doors as I pained them  :P

Another great story by Frank on three Johnnies doing some awesome work out here in NYC. Although they kind of make my contribution to the NYC effort -- eating, watching old sports games, working from home -- look a bit underwhelming. Still, thanks for being here, fellas.
