Since this page has turned into "News of the Weird" I thought I would add one from Oz's neighborhood.

Sydney couple's 'bat and maggot' wedding hell at Peppers Creek in Hunter Valley

Here is the link to the story about the $30,000 wedding ruined by bats and maggots in the bed :o :o :

It's good to see someone else in here, Redtooth.  The echo of my own voice is starting to drive me bat and maggoty.

When do we start talking about next year?  When something happens I know, but tell me your thoughts on the O-Line...  will they improve with age and being a top unit next year or do we need an injection of transfer talent?

Wow....after reading all this crazy stuff, I am beginning to think Hollywood Blvd. at 2 a.m. is fairly normal. :)

Here is a little history for the Johnnies. In 1856, a contingency from St. Vincent's Monastery in Pennsylvania arrived in the town of Carver as a potential location for a Catholic institution of higher learning. Years later, the honor went to Collegeville Township and today's SJU was born.

Just think, I could have walked to the Johnnie games if the Benedictines would have stayed in Carver. ;)

;D

How much were those Jaycees drinking before the offer?  For flash it can be argued that just 20 beers until the first sandwich is sobering...  ;)

Those guys are starting to get it. After 20 beers you need more than a sandwich to drive though. Like four hours sleep, a big breakfast, and half pot of coffee. Then......you can drive someplace for a couple bloody mary's, and drink another 20 beers. It's not an easy life people.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Well, I had the honor of swearing in the new mayor of Norwood Young America, the home of the Stiftungsfest, last evening. :D He happens to be a Johnnie and is also my brother. ;D The only downside is the fact that his wife is a Tommie. :P

"Police: Man sold teen daughter into marriage for cash, beer, meat"

A California man sold his 14-year-old daughter to an 18-year-old man for cash, beer and meat -- then called police when the prospective bridegroom didn't live up to his end of the deal, authorities said Tuesday...

In exchange, Galindo was to pay Martinez $16,000 and provide him with 160 cases of beer, 100 cases of soda, 50 cases of Gatorade, two cases of wine, and six cases of meat, Greenfield Police Chief Joe Grebmeier told CNN.

(A question that occurs to me: Why sell her for the hard goods?  Why not just round it out to $17k and buy your own Gatorade?)

OZ...you really get a kick out of the weird stuff don't you? ;)

Well, what else is there to do in the off-season?  I'm waiting for BDB to bring back Anna Friday (and maybe start Jessica Beil Monday and...)

Listening to Mike Evans from Hollyweird on KQRS this morning and he mentioned that Paris Hilton tried to get onto the Red Carpet for the Golden Globe awards this past Sunday and was denied access. Then there were two celeb events/parties after the awards program that she was also denied access to. Hopefully this will open the door for getting her to make an appearance at the Stiftungsfestivities this coming fall. As Dusty would say, developing. ;)
