We've got some open spaces (10ish) on the bus for Bock Fest if anyone is interested.  February 21st leaving the cities around 9am and returning around 6pm.  $35 per person includes ride there and back along with a keg for the trip down.  Send me a message if you're interested.  It's mostly mid-20 to mid-30 year olds, but all ages are welcome (21+ of course  ;) ).

Happy Chinese New Year to everyone!  My office is on the edge of Chinatown, so I 've been hearing drums and fireworks all day.

And it's the year of the Earth Ox!

(Hmmm, I think this looks like someone we know.)

sumander

Tmert, did you hear the news? Guess who is coming to TCF Bank stadium in 2010?

So, after 42 years We will get a chance to right the wrong from 1968! ;)

Summander -- What does playing Minnesota in 2010 have to do with "righting the wrong" of 1968 (whatever that was)?  Famous Southern Cal alumnus OJ Simpson did win the Heisman Trophy that year.  Perhaps you mean the Rose Bowl game loss to underdog Ohio State?  Or did a tOSU cheerleader steal a Song Girl's lipstick? :o

1968 the Gophers returned a kick off for a TD using a backwards pass across the field! Most of Memorial Stadium went wild. A young boy from Northern Minnesota that admired O.J. and USC was crushed!. Fortunately the Trojans went on to win the game.

SUMMIT!!!!!

Sum- are you sure that Southern Cal on the Gophers schedule? I thought it was the other USC (Univ. of St. Catherine)--- which would be more in line with Maturi's idea of a non-conference foe  :)

Somewhere at my parents house is a photo of my mom's late aunt Eleanor hosting a going away party at her SF apt for a young lady who interned for her and that lady's husband as they prepared to move to LA for his college days.... Margaurite (or however you spell it) & OJ who was transfering to SoCal.
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

So Southern Cal beats the Gophers in 1968 but the Gophers in losing score on a creative play and it creates a wrong of cosmic levels for a young boy from Northern Minnesota that is remembered 40 years later?  I think there's something wrong with this picture, Sum.  That wouldn't have been a problem for a boy from Northern California!  Are you sure you shouldn't be living in zip 90210? 8)

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Tell me about it...
