A bit o' news of the weird?

"Qantas jet grounded after dog chews through electrical wiring, interior panels"

The first indication of trouble occurred when the Airbus A330 left Auckland bound for Melbourne on December 7, The Courier-Mail reports.  A warning light in the cockpit indicated problems with the auxiliary power unit - a small jet in the tail that supplies electricity for various systems when the aircraft is on the ground...

An aviation engineering source said: "The dog ripped out several wires which set off the cockpit warning and then it had a go at a number of electrical units in the rear of the plane...  I do not know the breed but the dog had to be fairly big with a big bite to damage cargo hold panels that are as tough as billy goat boots."

"Tough as billy goat boots"... Ha.  I have never heard that one before and in Oz you hear just about all of them.

Three years ago someone here posted "new" NFL official jerseys that were yellow and black striped.  I thought that I had it saved, but unfortunately that was two computers ago, if you still have it could you repost?  Not that it would have made much difference this time, but I would like to send it to a couple friend who are Steeler fans.
Everyday is payday in paradise.

Anybody hear about the plane crash north of Menomonie Friday night?

Went right over my new house and landed next door to my old house, the one that got destroyed in the storm of  August 2007 which was the reason we moved.

My wife and kids watched it go down over the lake and they ended up getting interviewed on the channel 4 news and the Eau Claire TV news.

Crazy stuff.

The Red Tie Gala last Friday evening at the Northland Inn went well for Johnnie athletics. Always nice to see Red Hot Bennie in a fashionable red dress. ;) Everyone was wondering where Duffman, TDT, and Finsleft were. :o

In case you didn't get enough of the Boss's crotch in your face last night.  ;D

I've heard that those cold midwest winters can lead to depression and such, but geez, BDB, you've been a downer lately - first the Brazilian model who had to have her hands and feet amputated (and still died), then the plane crash north of Menomonie ("killing all on board"), and now the Boss's crotch! :o :P  Things have gone into a deadspin here, BDB - pull out before it's too late!  Perhaps getting the Wisconsin exclusive for Chia Obama for Bob and Steve's would make you feel better. 8)

Hmmm... you may be on to something here.

I must apply myself to drinking more beer. That'll pull me out of it!  ;)

Duff, I have heard good things about their beer. Never had the opportunity to try any of them. You have any recommendations when I do get the chance?
I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

A guy enters bar carrying an alligator and says to the patrons, "Here's a deal. I'll open this alligator's mouth and place my genitals inside.  The gator will close his mouth for one minute, then open it, and I'll remove my unit unscathed. If it works, everyone buys me drinks."  The crowd agrees.  The guy drops his pants and puts his privates in the gator's mouth.  Gator closes mouth.  After a minute, the guy grabs a beer bottle and bangs the gator on the top of its head.  The gator opens wide, and he removes his genitals unscathed.  Everyone buys him drinks.  Then he says: "I'll pay anyone $100 who's willing to give it a try."  After a while, a hand goes up in the back of the bar. It's a Tommie grad. "I'll give it a try," she says, "but you have to promise not to hit me on the head with the beer bottle."

A guy meets a hooker in a bar.  She says, "This is your lucky night.  I've got a special deal for you.  I'll do absolutely anything you want for $300, as long as you can say it in three words."  The guy replies, "Hey, why not?"  He pull his wallet out of his pocket, and one at a time lays three hundred-dollar bills on the bar, and says, slowly, "Paint...my...house."

Duff, I agree, pretty good stuff.  We usually differ greatly on our beer choices.

Still trying to recover from yesterdays SB party and celebrating the 6th SB victory of the greatest franchise in the history of the NFL.  The thought of a beer makes me have to close my eyes just to gain my balance.  I know you guys have a scale for hangovers, I think this one is even off your charts.

DuffMan

Snoop, where in the hell did you get Surly?  I don't think you can find it outside of MN, WI, or IL.

Sum, they make some good beers--not for the faint of heart!  Furious is a kick-to-the-crotch IPA.  Hoppy as anything I've tasted and it smells like a grapefruit.  Bender is good, too.  It's a dark brown ale that is smoooth!  Cynic is okay, but not my thing.  They're launching Coffee right now, if you like coffee, you'll like it.  I don't really like coffee, though.

Best part about the brewery is it's less than 2 miles from my house :)

Worst part, the owner is a Mac grad  :'(

How does it compare to the Summit IPA? I am fermenting a tongue splitter ale from the Northern Brewer right now. More hops than anything I have brewed prior. Can't wait to try it in a couple of weeks! Hops are good. ;)
