Sum, they make some good beers--not for the faint of heart!  Furious is a kick-to-the-crotch IPA.  Hoppy as anything I've tasted and it smells like a grapefruit.  Bender is good, too.  It's a dark brown ale that is smoooth!  Cynic is okay, but not my thing.  They're launching Coffee right now, if you like coffee, you'll like it.  I don't really like coffee, though.

Best part about the brewery is it's less than 2 miles from my house :)

Worst part, the owner is a Mac grad  :'(

How does it compare to the Summit IPA? I am fermenting a tongue splitter ale from the Northern Brewer right now. More hops than anything I have brewed prior. Can't wait to try it in a couple of weeks! Hops are good. ;)

I'm not a fan of Summit beers.  It's definitely not a run-of-the-mill IPA, the citrus really gives it a unique flavor.

A tradition unrivaled...

Looking at your avatar, Sumander, reminds me of this joke I read once, apparently from Richard Jeni:

I always look for a woman who has a tattoo. I see a woman with a tattoo, and I'm thinking, okay, here's a gal who's capable of making a decision she'll regret in the future.

Snoop, where in the hell did you get Surly?  I don't think you can find it outside of MN, WI, or IL.

I tried it when I visited GAC with my son.  I was in a sports bar of sorts and the bar maid was teasing me about being from CA and freezing my testicles off.  I asked for a Corona, she brought me what she called a local beer, a Surly.  I kept calling it a Surely.  Another night, too many beers.

BDB,

Yes, I saw your wife and son on WCCO.  Didn't know it was your wife and son at the time.

I think I still have that on the TIVO.  I'll have to take another look.

Anybody hear about the plane crash north of Menomonie Friday night?

Went right over my new house and landed next door to my old house, the one that got destroyed in the storm of  August 2007 which was the reason we moved.

My wife and kids watched it go down over the lake and they ended up getting interviewed on the channel 4 news and the Eau Claire TV news.

Crazy stuff.

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

Don't forget Valentine's Day.

If you do, you'll be sorry!  (Takes a while to get going - but worth it, trust me.)

Wow, now here's an outdoor sport (probably won't find many places for it in MN though).  Gives me new respect for Norwegians - these Norwegians anyway (they're crazy).

WOW..........Talk about a death wish.  I was wondering how they would land.  That is really wild.

SECURITY ALERT

Security in downtown St. Paul will be at the highest level since the RNC as the President and the Mayor meet for some fast-paced hockey action. Joining us for pre-game bevvies in the undisclosed bunker will be Lbean. In the event of a security breach, Lbean will be in charge until order is restored and the proper chain of command can resume. If Lbean takes a hit, then Flash will take charge.

I won't quote the story; just the headline and a pic ought to do the trick.  Ouch.

"Man pulls out 13 of his own teeth with pliers..."

EDIT: I will mention this one stunning factoid.  This dude is only 42...

EDIT II: Maybe I'll mention this as well.  The guy served as a medic in Iraq in 2003.  Note to self: if I have to re-enter service for some reason, don't get health advice, particularly dental, from British medical staff...

EDIT III: A thought just occurred to me when thinking about military medical staff: has anyone seen KR smile lately?  How are his choppers looking?

Mr. Ypsi

Either that dude has had one helluva a rough life, or he hasn't seen 42 in a couple of decades.

Now, many people complain that the DrudgeReport is a senseless gossip page, but no one can deny that sometimes Drudge points out some real news!
