These stories about charging inmates for TP and cities looking for ways to limit flushes reminds me of a message I once saw on a bathroom wall in Red Wing.

"Flush twice; Iowa needs the water."

Of course there was this one in boot camp in Great Mistakes Il.

Flush twice it is a long way to the mess hall.

A couple of weeks ago, Fins, Jr. and I played in the 35th annual Peg 'n' Keg cribbage tournament at the La Playette. Prior to starting the tourney, those attendees who were Johnnie football players posed for the above  photo with the winningest coach in college football history (front, center).

Someone needs to "embiggin" that picture...

EDIT:
I figured it out.

Some football content?  "No," you say, "not from Oz!"

College Football News' Recruiting 2009 - CFN's All-Name Teams.  Some of my first-team favorites:

LB - Barkevious Mingo, LSU
QB - Shavodrick Beaver, Tulsa
DB - Bunduka Kargbo, Buffalo
DL - Mister Cobble, Kentucky

EDIT:  That Mister Cobble cracks me up.  I think of the Coke ad where the kid runs up to Mean Joe Green and says, "Hey, mister!"  Cobble would respond, "That's Mr. Mister to you, kid."  And then he would break out singing Broken Wings.  (Life on Mars is just about to start.  I've got to get into my strange dreams mode.)

EDIT II: "Mister Cobble" also reminds of a guy that was in my boot camp company.  Anthony Anthony he was, no middle name.

Duffman and anyone else attending, have a great time at the BockFest in New Ulm on Saturday. If you and your group are looking for something to do on the way home, stop in Carver and head to Harvey's Bar for the Buck Rock `N Roll Zumhofe midget wrestling event Saturday evening. I had scheduled Buck for a Stiftungsfestivities a few years ago but got the thumbs down from the SJU administration. He and I were high school wrestling teammates.

Heading up to Longville this evening for the EelPout Kick off Party at McGuire's Inn on Woman Lake. Starting time is 9:00 p.m. Anyone who is attending the EelPout Festival in Walker is welcome to join us on Leech Lake Saturday afternoon for Stiftungsfest burgers.

American Football from down under? :o :o :o  Holy smoke!

Beaver committed to Michigan last summer but decommitted in December ... to Tulsa.  Since Michigan's starting QB from this past season just announced his transfer (still undecided on his next school - get on the phone Johnnie coaches!), it looks like the skunkbears will likely be starting a freshman at QB this fall. Heh.

Believe me it's been hard to resist talking Aussie Rules.  Pre-season footy has started.  The family and I will be going to the round one Grand Final rematch at the MCG on a Friday night in about a month.

A fun off-season read - for me - from Wildcat 11 where 2003 AA WILDCAT quarterback, Tyler Matthews, has a few choice things to say about those Gagliardi teams.

Nice work CatDomeAlumni!  I hope we see a resurgence from both squads this season.

Are you out there TDT?

I haven't heard from TDT, but I did run into his friend.

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

I have made this picture embiggenable.  Best not to click if you are suffering from an already upset stomach.  Severe queasiness may ensue upon viewing.  Just remember, once seen, this cannot be unseen.

EDIT:  Look at it closely and ask yourself, "Where do the gum balls come out?  And what's really the surprise."  Urp.  Excuse me, I've got to run...

Fishing in the Congo did I say a couple days ago?  Well that just won't do.  No, siree.  Duff, if he has any courage at all, will take to the waters of Borneo in an aluminum death trap with a 15hp outboard.  And there he may find... a genuine monster.

"100-Foot 'Borneo Monster' Said Photographed"

The snake-like monster of Borneo in an allegedly real photograph of the river Baleh. The creature is said to be 100 feet long. Look at the apparent sizes of the trees and make your own geometrical judgment.

The snake-like Borneo monster, though rarely seen or photographed, looks pretty accessible in this scene said to be near a remote village.

It's not the courage I am lacking, it is the funds.  Pony up and I will be on a flight ASAP.

You can get to Brunei from Minneapolis for only $1,542 (round trip at Travelocity!) and from there it's only a jeep ride into the jungles of the island.  Heck, the boat and motor you will get eaten in will cost more than that.

(And what's snoop doing asking questions about driving a boat?  Does he even have one?)
