Wisdom

98-year-old Mother Superior from Ireland was dying.
The nuns gathered around her bed trying to make her last journey comfortable. They tried giving her some warm milk to drink but she refused it.
One of the nuns took the glass back to the kitchen and, remembering a bottle of Irish Whiskey received as a gift the previous Christmas, she opened it and poured a generous amount into the warm milk.
Back at Mother Superior's bed, she held the glass to her lips. Mother drank a little, then a little more, and before they knew it, she drank the whole glass to the last drop.
"Mother," the nuns asked earnestly, "please give us some wisdom before you die."
She raised herself in the bed and said, "Don't sell that cow!"

It doesn't work so well (taste so good) with scotch, apparently.  A friend of mine and I did this to his mother many years ago.  She asked for milk; we gave her milk plus a liberal dolop of scotch.  She spit it out. :o

You know, way back in the day . . . (late 70s) when I was tending bar, playing rugby . . . [interlude while mind wanders . . . . ;) ;) ;)) . . . I remember pouring scotch and milk more than once or twice.  Some like it.  I don't remember ever pouring irish and milk . . . except when there was coffee and sugar involved as well . . . but I can imagine it.  And, strange as it sounds, milk isn't a bad chaser to scotch.  I can also say that I've consumed scotch and milk, and that it isn't bad . . . but NEVER with good scotch.

there ya go, ya sure you betcha.

I forgot to share that I had a Snoopdawg-esque brush with fame last weekend.  I was at a bar (hard to believe, I know) and ran into Johnathan and Andy Hillstrand, captains of the Time Bandit on the show Deadliest Catch.  I briefly said hi and shook hands, but both had had quite a few beers at that point  ;)

Geez...I took nothing but crap for posting my celeb run in, and it was with KG, of the Boston Celtics!  ???

My story's believable.  Plus, I talk of my 16' fishing boat instead of a yacht and a Toyota Sequoia instead of a million dollar RV.  People can relate to me :)

Hey OZ - Why no play-by-play of the biker gang fight at the Sydney airport? Were tickest available?

Wait, Paris Hilton went to school ???

And a proud graduate of Washington Kindergarten she is! ;)

I figured she went to school in the same sense that today I went to the grocery store.
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

I love the Goldie Hawn line: I went to UCLA.  Couldn't find a parking spot, so I never went back.

We've had that for almost a year, now.  When you have a 150lb dog, you need something to haul it in.  Plus, I needed something to tow the boat with.  It's 8 years old, so I'm not pimpin.

A tradition unrivaled...

What, your dog doesn't ride in the cab with you? ???  Gotta give the cab some good odor so your wife can, uh, appreciate you more. 8)

Uhhhhh, it's an SUV, so while he's in the back, his odor still fills the entire vehicle.  It's probably better than my odor at times, though.

I attended the NCAA basketball games at the Humpty Dome on Friday night.  The highlight of my night was the first time the USC Song Girls came out on the floor.

I'm sure TMerton was glad to see the team in green defeat the Trojans on Sunday.  ;)

Not such a good day for the Irish women against the Golden Gophers on Sunday in South Bend.  :'(

Gee sorry Duff didn't mean to piss you off. So you know, I enjoy the 10 ft inflatable just as much.  Guess this means your not coming out during tuna season. And here I had such high hopes.

I dont get the hostility, I've never said anything to you to warrant it.

I don't think it's hostility, hopefully not speaking out of line.  Just a giving you an bit of a hard time.  You have to admit you have some big toys, bigger than most.  And you've got to expect a little grief about them.  After all, you get to play with them and what do we get?  Other than grief for you, not much.

One of them ended up dying.  They were bashing each other with those poles that hold up the lane ropes.

You gotta admit, the last place you would expect a violent, murderous, public brawl between 20 bikers could rage for five minutes without police intervention is the airport.  Makes me glad I've got this new Melbourne based job where I've pretty much forgotten how to spell aeroport.

Duff, hope you don't need to use the new boat for getting around town the next few days.
Everyday is payday in paradise.

Duff has been hostile ever since Frank Rickart destroyed him on a trap play Jr. year! ;D

Snoop, have you ever heard that story? It's great coming from Frank live after about 10 Hamm's pre-game GAC vs SJU  :D
