Well, it wasn't pretty, but like the Johnnies, they got the job done.

I, too, like the Blackhawks. It would be a long shot, but not impossible for them to meet for the Cup. I saw my first game at the United Center this year, and was impressed by the team, game and atmosphere.

Some moronic Pens fan called into NHL Live today and was whining (it must be a Pitt, PA thing) about how the Pens get no respect. Maybe he didn't see them the ten times they were on the NBC Game of the Week this year. Then he had the AUDACITY to call Ovechkin, " nothing but a glorified cherrypicker" He's obviously blind too.

Interrupting the ARF season and hockey playoffs ...  SJU spring report ...  Oz wanted info on the offense so here it is.  Boyle has been throwing and looking good; Hansell has not shown for any of the spring sessions.  (Reminder: attendance at spring practices is not mandatory.)  Now back to the Hawthorn Hawks and Washington Feds/Caps/whatever.

Pens fans are like the Rodney Dangerfields of hockey fans! ;D

At this point in the West, I am cheering for the Blackhawks and the Ducks. In the Blackhawk/Canuck series, I just hope that Alex Burrows can keep his hands out of Duncan Keith's hair. ;) I do think that with all of the suspensions so far in the playoffs, it is funny that the Ducks (despite their reputation) haven't had any.

In the East, I am cheering for the Caps and the Bruins. I didn't get home in time to see the Caps win, but saw that the "old" man on the team showed everyone (again) how to finish off an opponent during a Cup run. I am sure Caps fans appreciate it more now that he is wearing a Cap uniform instead of a Red Wing uniform. ;D

That Federov goal was fantastic.  A real snipe of a goal, the crowd was absolutely lit, and the place didn't stop rocking.  To top it off, the Caps prevented the Blueshirts from getting anything going after that-- to the point where Lundquist couldn't even get off the ice for the extra man.  And for icing on the cake, Federov's collision with Avery meant the [bleep] left the ice hurting.  Not that I like seeing injuries, especially intentional ones, but this one was not intentional...

I missed the end of the Canes-Devils game, but it sounds like it would have been fantastic as well.

Tmert, you really have to watch the Stanley Cup playoffs.  It really is the best thing going between the Frozen Four and summer baseball.

I just generally prefer college sports (and below); the pros in all sports do less and less for me every year.  Just about my only diversion at this time of year is watching Charles Barkley on the TNT broadcasts (just keep him out of the bars and out of the cars).

Me too, 'cept for baseball.
We had an enjoyable gathering under the dome last night, with the assembly of the MIACPP baseball brain trust: Veek, TDT, TC and yours truly. There was a Cobbernation sighting at Hubert's before the game, and heard rumors of DustySJU being in attendance.
General consensus was that if Little Nicky Punto can come up with the occasional clutch sacrifice bunt, he's worth all the money in his new contract.
Worst managerial move: it wasn't calling for the double steal on two consecutive pitches with Delmon being your lead runner, it was acting like the players came up with this on their own, twice, and you were surprised that they would try anything so stupid.

Fedorov, aside from still being a very skilled player, is a class guy.

As much as I don't like Avery, I have to admit he was the Rangers best player last night. Tortorella gets some love here too, since he got them to play their best game of the series last night. Varlamov is playing as well as any goalie I've ever seen. I hope he doesn't become aware of what's going on.

I found a ROR poster...

Thanks for the embiggefication.

No worries.  On re-reading my post, it appears to me that my statement comes across as rude.  Not my intent.  In fact, it's a pun (maybe not a successful pun, but an attempted pun all the same).  You all will have to click on the pic to see if my pun is actually punny.

Spent the last week in Oklahoma trying to prove Duff wrong and couldn't. Had Kansas catfish, Okie catfish and Cajun catfish and could not OD but had a great time trying. :)
Had Mountain Oysters at LaJunta, CO on the way back home and believe that they are not what they used to be since only half of the batch worked.  :P

Worked?  :-X

Did you catch any of the catfish by hand (Okie noodling)?

They once said that a black man would be president when pigs fly. His first 100 days in office and, BAM, swine flu.
