AOs and Gentlemen....your attention please--

UST--- 2009 NATIONAL BASEBALL CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!!!

Since this is a football board [except, of course, for hockey and the Twins :-\], might I suggest you come back when USTD is the national champion in football?  We'll wait. 8)

Don't hold your breath there "T" My guess is we will both have a title before they do. :o
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

GEE,

I wonder how many pages we have to go back to see the LAST post that had anything to do with stu?

Kind of like the current count of how many days it has been since Michigan beat THE OSU? ;D It is 2000+ and still counting. Ya gotta love it. :o

The worm WILL turn!  Don't forget 1988-2000, when OSU won exactly twice in 13 years. :D

Bring back John Cooper! ;)  Though eventually RichRod will solve the sweater guy. ;D

Mr Yipsi,
Eventually, maybe another 2000 days. ;)

Cooper is available, you could get him cheap. Chances are he could beat OSU since he has a lot of experience in knowing how they loose. RichRod is not the answer but that's ok you can keep him. :-*

I'm not (yet) sold on Rodriguez either (I suspect he's got 1-2 years to whip the sweater guy or be gone).  But a Michigan coach WILL whip him (and be careful what you wish for - after Woody added a 2-point conversion at the end of a monkey stomp in 1968, we got Bo who beat what Woody said was the best team he ever had in 1969).

As for Cooper - he's much more valuable to Michigan if he's in Columbus! :D

[We probably should take this UM-OSU banter off the MIAC board! :P  Since the Gophers so rarely beat either of them, someone might get offended. ;)]

SUMMIT!!!!!

when y'all get near double digits in NCAA titles, we'll talk. 13  NCAA trophies in our case.... yours?  :)
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

Take it easy there Maniac and quit cheating. UST has five (two baseball, two cross country, one indoor track and field) men's national championships to the Johnnies' six (four football, two golf).

I was just going to ask how many of those 13 are in men's sports, but JohnniePress beat me to it!

Congrats to the Toms for representing the MIAC well!
SJU Champions 2003 NCAA D3, 1976 NCAA D3, 1965 NAIA, 1963 NAIA; SJU 2nd Place 2000 NCAA D3; SJU MIAC Champions 2018, 2014, 2009, 2008, 2006, 2005, 2003, 2002, 2001, 1999, 1998, 1996, 1995, 1994, 1993, 1991, 1989, 1985, 1982, 1979, 1977, 1976, 1975, 1974, 1971, 1965, 1963, 1962, 1953, 1938, 1936, 1935, 1932

SUMMIT!!!!!

JP-- no one's cheating-- I said NCAA titles, which throws out 2 of SJU's football titles. You can count all of CSB's titles too if it helps.  If you want to count the NAIA ones, too, then its...13-6.

Both of which are pretty impressive counts. Id say that's more than the rest of MIAC combined, except I cant remember how many wrestling titles Auggie has...

Any way you look at it, both UST & SJU have atheltic programs across the board that give alums reason to be proud.

Well I guess this is my cue........Thanks for the lead in johnniepress.

Let's just say '93,'96,'97,'98,'00,'01,'02,'05,'06,'08,'09 pending, 10 NCAA Division 3 Mens Titles in one sport alone. And I wouldn't trade one for any other sport...but that's me 8)

I will have to do some additional research to find out if there may be a track or CC title lurking.

That's the double digit number you were looking for miacmaniac? :o

Rich Rod created an utterly awful situation at West Virginia when he bolted for Michigan.  WVU sued, and Rich Rod/Michigan settled out of court,  paying millions.   A Michigan newspaper reporter (perhaps out of Detroit) did a lengthy expose on Rich Rod, and basically concluded that the guy cannot be trusted, mis-treats his players, and that Rich Rod is hardly the kind of first-class coach that Michigan deserves.    If he can't win he'll be out; if he can win he'll bolt again in the middle of the night like he did at WV.    Bo is probably turning over in his grave.  :(

Thanks Kirasdad, appreciate the follow-up. I was too busy catching up on our latest TRANSFER for next year. Sounds promising. ;D

I believe the proper name is Dick Rod.

Don't know if he is a Transfer if he never even suited up for USF???

That's right ......so my rant earlier about transfers is still intact. MUC does NOT typically build wih tranfers.
Especially since LK was recruiting this kid right out of high school. :-X

The St. John's /St. Thomas is the most immediate and local of rivalries for comparison that's why I mention it.

I would not say a majority have both but it always is considered a measure of success by either program. Yes in the articles I have read there has been a consistant theme that St Thomas was in the mix of the recent commits.

I have no inside track on others besides talking to some of the coaches in January at the Red Tie Gala and they mentioned some highly regarded prospects that have since commited to St. John's.

So Where did St. John's help themselves in the off season and where will St. John's struggle come fall?  What positions of senior leadership will be missing?

Damn, I almost spit up my beer when they showed the UST(D) clip during the Twins game.
Everyday is payday in paradise.
