I had not yet heard about Sakic. bennie and 57  are both right. I think hockey has more of this type of prfessional than any other sport, but I may be biased. I put him in there with the likes of Steve Yzerman, Nicklas Lidstrom, Brian Leetch, just to name a few. The Avs first pick, Matt Duchene (sp?) will be disappointed. Joe was one of his hockey heroes growing up, and he has said he was greatly looking forward to playing with him.

Anybody catch the ESPN segment on John this afternoon?  ???  Not long or anything new but good stuff.  :)

BTW: It followed a segment on Brewster.

So, what was it about - John, SJU, football in MN, or what?  Maybe the fact that SJU and John were voted best team and coach in the history of fb in MN? ;) ;D

I really dislike the Yankees.  But more than that, I really dislike the fact that the Twinks always seem to roll over and p*ss all over themselves like the runtiest runt of a runt-filled litter.

Oz, nobody says it quite like you.   8)

Just about John, as SJU coach, his longivity and coaching method.  :)

I don't like them either.  While watching the College World Series on tv they showed an infant sitting on his father's lap wearing a t-shirt which read, "I can't even walk yet and I already hate the Yankees."  I thought it was hilarious.

Mrs BW and I are spending my birthday in the Twin Cities and will be attending the July 28th Twins' game against the White Sox.  I'm neither a Twins nor White Sox fan but I'm on a quest to attend a major league game in every ballpark and this year it's the Hump.

Sorry, but that's not a ballpark.

Nevertheless, Good Luck in your quest BW. The only thing is, you'll have to go back to the Twin Cities next year, or thereafter, since there will be a new stadium in use.

WAY too early to say, but you just might have found a keeper in Keppel.  Faced six Yankees, walked one, got the other five out.

Maintains his season 0.00 ERA! ;D

Eventually faced 13 Yanks; got 11 outs.  Shutout.

Hope he comes back to earth before the Tigers face him! ;D

Just a reminder to all our friends in the MIAC that this Saturday evening we will be hosting MIAC Night at the Chaska baseball park when the Chaska Cubs host the Joe & Stans team from St. Paul. Game time is 7:00 p.m.

Anyone wearing a shirt or hat from a MIAC school will get into the game free. Stiftungsfest burgers will be served. Join us and meet some of your rivals in the MIAC.

The Chaska Athletic Park is located at 725 West 1st Street in Chaska. This is on the southwest side of downtown Chaska. Be there or be square. ;)

Man.  Swept by the Yankees.  Makes a guy want to cry.

I sure hope Brett Fa... Fa... Fav-ray brings some fireworks to the Vikes.
