On a serious note, please say a prayer for this Jersey City police officer and his family.

Unfortunately Officer DiNardo has died as a result of his wounds.

Anyone see the story about the Mac grad who refused to take his helmet off during the national anthem in protest of Iraq, got kicked off the team and has since filed a lawsuit against Mac? Sounds like quite the fiasco...
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Macalaster would have to be the last school you would predict to kick someone off a football team for anti-american views (according to the plantiff).  Though I suppose Macalester also tends to attract this type of character.

Ha!  Triple +k to tmerton for that.  Too funny.

A late entry, but it made me chuckle...

MJ's true last words have surfaced.  Apparently he barely retained consciousness when the paramedics were wheeling him to the ambulance.  It's being reported that with his last bit of strength MJ reach for a paramedic's arm, pulled him close and whispered, "Take me to the Children's Hospital."

Please help me decide which quote is worse. One comes from oAs and the other from the infamous Hoag.

Fashion philosophy: "Business from the waist up; party from the waist down."

Fashion philosophy: "It's not the suit that makes the man; the man makes the suit."

Thoughts?

I don't know Wonka. I do believe I am dumb and dumber now, however, for having read them.

Not well, but he was an fine cop and person from what I saw of him.  Another Jersey City cop owns a coffee shop around the corner from our house and Marc was often in there and always friendly and polite.

He was actually kept alive until this morning so they could find recipients and then harvest his organs.  He gave his life for his hometown and now he gives life to others.

Is that even possible?  Kind of like infinity + 1.  No discernible difference.  :o

Finally!  A victory for the French military:

"Suburbs in flames after military exercise"

MILITARY bombing practice has caused one of France's worst fires for three years which continues to rage on the eastern outskirts of Marseille...

The wildfire was caused by military practice shelling which hit the eastern Trois-Ponts suburb of the southern city forcing the evacuation of scores of residents...

Regional prefect Michel Sappin confirmed that the blaze had been started by the shelling, lashing out at the "imbecilic" action that had led to "an annoying and serious" situation in a zone close to a city and saying he was "exasperated".

[And if French exasperation doesn't teach a lesson, then what will?]
