Finally!  A victory for the French military:

"Suburbs in flames after military exercise"

MILITARY bombing practice has caused one of France's worst fires for three years which continues to rage on the eastern outskirts of Marseille...

The wildfire was caused by military practice shelling which hit the eastern Trois-Ponts suburb of the southern city forcing the evacuation of scores of residents...

Regional prefect Michel Sappin confirmed that the blaze had been started by the shelling, lashing out at the "imbecilic" action that had led to "an annoying and serious" situation in a zone close to a city and saying he was "exasperated".

[And if French exasperation doesn't teach a lesson, then what will?]

Ahh, nothing like a little Surrender Monkey talk!  ;D

Q: What wine goes best with a French surrender?

A: White, of course.

Har, har.  Yet again this is brought up and it's true.  I would like to point out that the "reaaaaaaaaally Mickey Mouse" nature of this practice, as claimed by the author you link to, is belied by the fact that you never noticed.

It's nice to see this pattern in the comments:

* Know SJU : Love the program
* Don't know SJU : Make wise-cracks about the bush-league uniforms

The one exception is a small minded and jealous type (probably a whimpering Tommie looking for his only way to get one up on us) that called Gagliardi senile.

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

100% true.  The author is quite obviously a d-bag.

The author assumes he has a monopoly on sports fashion and later in the comments and decides he needs to police the bantering between the disgruntled gustie and the johnnie faithful.  What an idiot.    It might make a little more sense to poke fun at Gagliardi for wearing that faded maroon parka on the sidelines during the cold games.

OZ,  by posting this article, it wasn't my intention to poke fun of SJU. I'm well aware of their legendary coach, and storied past. I'll be a fool to knock them about something as petty as their uniforms. I was just passing along some info I recently read about them.

I have a lot of respect for the program. I've been to a couple of SJU - UWW games, and I just never been close enough to notice that on their helmets...that's all. contrary to the writer, i don't think it's all that bad. Next time i'll pay more attention.  ::)

In my heart I know that, but this is a thing of passion.  Rhetorical flourish is to be expected (if not encouraged).

And my dig was actually at the bottom-feeder that wrote the post.  I was using your experience of not noticing to demonstrate just what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, fore-fleshing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-a**, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey s**t he is.

wow...never pegged the Johnnies to be so passionate about your uniforms  ;)

The uni-cop probably thinks the Oregon 'Ducks' football uniforms are the cutting edge of fashion.  ;D
